Digital Portfolio

The document summarizes Maddie Kelly's digital portfolio for her Art I class. It includes descriptions and statements for drawings of a still life using shading techniques, a landscape painting using primary colors, and reflections on progress made over the semester in learning to draw and visualize objects. The still life drawing required identifying parts and using techniques like hatching and shading, while the landscape incorporated a color scheme and parts like a horizon line. Maddie was proud of rendering a teapot and learning to fix mistakes in a sunset painting. Overall, she surprised herself by gaining skills in visualizing and drawing objects realistically.

ARTIST STATEMENT
I am most proud of the way my
teapot turned out. I like the way I
shaped the handle and the way it
looks like it is actually reflecting
light

I wish I could have figured out the

textures for the flowers. I also
need more practice cross hatching
on the fabric.

itself.
My Landscape
Artist Statement
I love the way my sun set turned out.
I missed a week of school so I am
impressed how courageous I was
with this project than all the others. I
love sunsets, and mountains. I am
happy with the way this turned out.

I wish I would have better understood

how to make the reflection. I spent a
few days messing it up. But I learned
how to fix it!
Reflection
At the beginning of the semester I was very nervous to take
this class. I have never been able to take what I see in
front of me, or in my head, and be able to put it on paper.
I surprised myself. I learned how to draw what I see and go
out of my comfort zone.
All I needed was a good teacher and some patience.
