In the globalized world where more and more tasks are
completed on-line, the need for new ways of product
delivery has become obvious.
The business requirements and the needs from IT are
constantly increasing.
Global Delivery Modelis the combination of onshore and

There are several organisations who have discovered
that there is value in performing tasks at geographic
locations that provide most cost efficiencies.
The two main models which have blended in the GDM
are onsite and off shore model.
Although Global Delivery Model is quite often associated
to IT Services/Consulting; it has actually seen its
application in several other areas.

Pioneered by Infosys Blue Ocean Strategy.
The Infosys Global Delivery Model (GDM) is a
framework for distributed project management and
multi - location engagement teams.
It is based on the principle of taking work where it
can be done best, makes the most economic sense,
with the least amount of acceptable risk.

In 2003, Infosys launched GDM Plus, an enhanced
service delivery model.
Key factor behind the rapid growth of Infosyss
revenues.
In a span of 25 years, company grew to generate
revenues of US$ 2 billion in 2005-06.
Infosys derived more than 40% of revenues
through new GDM based services.
The no. of employees of Infosys grew to 52,700 as

of march 2006 against 10,700 in 2002.
