What is spinning???.....
The process fiber to yarn is called

as spinning.

LAP FORMER MACHINE


This machine is also known as preparatory for combing

process. In this machine which simply convert drawn


sliver into lap which is used in combing machine. As
combing is better achieved in lap as compared by sliver
because it is impossible to remove short fibers from
middle of the sliver. In this aspect, lap former machine is
used.

Working
The input of this machine is drawn sliver and output of
this machine is lap. In this machine 12 to 24 drawn slivers
are feeded to make 1 lap. These drawn slivers are placed
in creel portion of this machine through guiding rollers
these slivers are inserted in drafting system of lap former
machine. In drafting the length of slivers are increase and
compact them as a single wave. This compact wave is
further processed with heavy steel roll in which this wave
is further compact and finally this wave ( lap ) is wound
on bobbin.

Combing

COMBING MACHINE
Introduction Of Combing Machine :
After Drawframe process, we have to decide whether the

material is transported to combing machine or simplex


machine. In combing the quality of material is increase
where the short fibers removed also. Fibers are removed
that are not wanted to present in the yarn. This removal
affects as fine product. Combing machine is used for
production of medium, fine medium and fine yarn.

Objective Of Combing Machine :

Eliminate pre-determine quality of short fibers.


Eliminate the remaining impurities
Eliminate the large production of laps in the fiber.
Form a sliver having maximum possible evenness.

Working
Feed cylinder feed the fibers coming from the web.
Upper nipper lowers down on lower nipper and nipped the

already feed fibers coming from web.


Rotary comber rotates carry away short fibers, nebs and
impurities from bottom of the web.
Nippers open detecting rollers return back and feed back
a put of sliver which has already comb.
The projecting fibers are placed on previous comb sliver.
Detecting rollers start to move forward and they pulls the
fibers bundles forward.
The brushes remove the impurities etc. away from the
rotary cylinder.
