Wireless Computing

Wireless computing refers to computer networks that are not connected by cables. It allows for full-functioning computers with internet and intranet access through wireless devices like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Common wireless computing devices include PDAs with touch screens and virtual keyboards, and tablet PCs with touch screens and styluses for input. Wireless solutions provide the greatest benefits for portability, immediacy, currency, accuracy, and high-quality interactions. Applications of wireless computing include mobile phones, Wi-Fi networks, cellular data services, and mobile satellite communications. Security standards have evolved from WEP to WPA and WPA2 with stronger encryption.
