Career Seminar Series: Portfolios Development: Goals

This document provides guidance on creating a career portfolio for high school students. It explains that a career portfolio is a collection of documents and examples that provide a complete picture of a student's skills, experiences, accomplishments and education. The portfolio should include items like a resume, cover letter, references, recommendation letters, completed job applications, certificates, awards, community service records, samples of work and documentation of leadership roles and achievements. Maintaining a career portfolio allows students to track their progress and accomplishments and provides materials to demonstrate their qualifications for jobs or scholarships in the future.
