Overview of Documentum

Documentum is an ECM system used by Guy Carpenter to create, manage, and store content. It integrates with several Guy Carpenter applications. Users can be created in Documentum to access applications. DQL queries can retrieve content from Documentum. Revision documents are versioned in Documentum. Attributes like name, title, dates, and program information are stored for Revision documents in Documentum.

Documentum Overview & Integration with GC Application

Create a new user Non LDAP : Super user can create Non-LDAP user id in QA /Pre-prod/Prod.
Primarily used by GRAIL to validate the Month end & year end reports.



Create a new user LDAP user Id : Portal Admin can create LDAP user id in portal application, LDAP
sync job is schedule in QA environment. LDAP sync job publish the new portal ids in documentum.



Add a new user to an existing user group/roles : Id Admin or Super user can perform this
action in application.

Reset a Documentum user password
Non-LDAP : For Non-LDAP , ID Admin or Super user roles can reset password.


LDAP: For LDAP Portal Admin can reset password

DQL : DQL is the language used to query Documentum, which is a content management system used to
create, manage, deliver, and archive all types of content from text documents and spreadsheets to digital
images, HTML, and XML components. We can run in DA environment by using the DQL editor.
Example: To find the duplicate records in QA environment
select gc_migrated_id, count(*) from gc_document group by gc_migrated_id having count(*) > 1

Renew/version of Revision Documents : In Phase-1 document versions are generated by
Revision Application or Portal application.



Interchange of primary clients : Revision have offer the functionality like in a program multiple
clients can be involved in order to take a re-insurance . In Revision program if we change the primary client,
in D2 the program corresponding contract/placement documents are move to new primary client.

Taxonomy & attributes: The D2 application has deigned in such a way like ,it has supporting 2 kind of
taxonomy structure
Legacy taxonomy: This taxonomy is similar like as LiveLink taxonomy.
Client centric taxonomy/ non-client centric : The Client centric taxonomy is supported by MDM,
FacExchange & Revision.









Non-Client centric is supported GRAIL, GC Portal etc.
