1. The objective of the project is to design and analysis of mono steel leaf spring and also laminated composites leaf spring made of different composite materials. 2. A virtual model of both steel and laminated mono composites leaf spring is created in Pro-E and model imported in ANSYS 12.0 for analysis by
Literature Survey:
Past recorded data shows that steel leaf spring are manufactured by 60Si7, 50Cr4V2, 55SiCr7 and 50CrMoCV4 etc. Advantages of leaf spring over helical spring are that the ends of the springs are guided along a definite path so as to act as a structural member in addition to shock absorbing device. And capacity of leaf spring is better than other springs in terms of axial loads, lateral loads and brake-torque. Leaf spring absorb the vehicle vibrations, shocks and bumps load by means of spring deflections energy is stored in the leaf spring and then relieved slowly.

Introduction
Spring A spring is defined as an elastic body, whose function is to distort when loaded and to recover its original shape when the load is removed. The various important applications of springs are as follows: 1. To caution, absorb or control energy due to either shock or
vibration as in car springs, railways buffers etc. 2. 3. To apply forces as in brakes, clutches and spring loaded valves. To control motion by maintaining contact between two elements
Leaf Spring:
Leaf springs are widely used for automobile and rail road suspensions. It consists of a series of flat plates, usually of semi- elliptical shape. The leaves are held together by means of two U-bolts and a centre clip. The longest leaf, called the master leaf, is bent at both ends to form the spring
eye.
At the center, the spring is fixed to the axle of the car. Multi- leaf springs are
provided with one or two extra full length leaves in addition to the master leaf.

Conclusion
1.
A comparative study has been made between laminated composite leaf
spring and steel leaf spring with respect to weight, stiffness and strength. 2. By employing a composite leaf spring leaf spring for the same load
