Web Manager
The Web manager is a true Web App, embedded on the Projectors with networking can be connected to using a variety of web browsers and does not require Java
Slide 20 of 28
Wireless Application
The Wireless application can actually be used with wireless or with cabled Ethernet. The Application allows: Splitting the projection in to 4 quarters to allow up to 4 separately connected computers to present at the same time. Allows a single computer to take control of the full projection space The application allows multiple computers to be managed for projection with the Conference Control feature (Part of the Web Manager package)

Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting Projectors
Projector Troubleshooting can be split in to 5 main areas: Image related Issues Image is not displaying or displaying imperfectly OSD related Issues The OSD will not display Remote Control related Issues The Unit does not seem to work Lamp related Issues The system shuts down automatically Networking Network connectivity can not be established to the projector
Slide 27 of 28
Troubleshooting Process
Projector Troubleshooting can be performed easy if a process is used: Identify the fault Ask questions (what happened) Use indicators (What LEDs are lit) Test feature to ensure it is really faulty Replace faulty component (where appropriate) Test system to ensure the fault is fixed For image related issues, there is a built in test pattern utility that can be run from the Others submenu. Manuals for Projectors can be found: -

Troubleshooting Image
Problem The screen does not display the presentation. The image is unstable or flickering. The image has a vertical flickering bar. Solution If you are using a portable computer, press Fn + F8. Adjust the tracking on the OSD Display submenu in the PC mode only. Adjust the frequency on the OSD Display submenu in the PC mode only.
If
the display receives the wrong signal output from the graphics card, set the signal type to RGB on the OSD Display tab. The image color is incorrect.
Use
Test Pattern on the Others menu. Ensure that the colors of the test pattern are correct. Adjust the focus ring on the projector lens. The image is out of focus. Ensure that the projection screen is within the required distance from the projector. The required distance is 3.94 ft (1.2 m) to 32.81 ft (10 m). The projector automatically detects the input signal format. It will maintain the aspect ratio of the projected image according to the input signal format with an original setting. If the image is still stretched, adjust the aspect ratio on the Set Up menu in the OSD. The image is reversed. Select Set Up from the OSD and adjust the projector mode.

Testing Networking
The projectors have built in DHCP services, the easiest way to test networking is to listed below To test the network port: 1.Disconnect the Projector from the LAN and plug directly in to the computer 2.Use the projector menu to ensure that networking is enabled and that DHCP is running and make a note of the IP address, the default is 192.168.100.10 Class C. 3.Using a standard or crossover cable, connect a computer directly to the projector to minimise the number of components in the troubleshooting loop. Ensure that the computers NIC is set to pick up DHCP. 4.On the computer, open a CMD prompt and Ping the projector IP address from the command line Ping 192.168.100.10 - If a reply comes back the network port is working successfully.
Slide 44 of 28
Test Patterns
The Test Patterns are used to test focus and resolution on the projector and can be used when other troubleshooting steps do not resolve Display issues Test Patterns can be found: In the Others Menu of the 1210S / 1410X / 1510X / 1610HD / In the Advanced Settings Projector Settings menu for the S500 / 4220 / 4320

Updating Firmware
Firmware is generally used to fix issues and refine functionality of systems. On occasion troubleshooting may well lead to the need for a Firmware update. If there is firmware available for the projector, it should be updated using the Web Manager interface.
NOTE: It is important to disable and enable wireless/network using the OSD to restart the network card for the projector after firmware upgrade is successful.
Slide 46 of 28
This should not normally be necessary but, if there are problems with settings and changing the settings do not seem to take effect, it may be worth trying to reset the factory defaults. The follow is reset : Input Select Options Picture Settings Display settings Setup menu options (most) Others menu options (most) It does not reset: Networking parameters Web manager Admin password
(for Web Manager The Reset to Default in the Web Manager resets this along with all the network settings)
