Experiment No.11 Developing Signal Generator Using DAQ Card: Objective
Theory:
Signal Generation using DAQ:
DAQs can be used to generate various forms of signals depending on its specifications. It will be having Digital-to-Analog converters, which convert digital values to analog signals. features and
Signal Generation:
A signal generator, also known as function generator, arbitrary waveform generator, or frequency generator is an electronic device that generates repeating or non-repeating electronic signals (in either the analog or digital domains). They are generally used in designing, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing electronic or electroacoustic devices; though they often have artistic uses as well. There are many different types of signal generators, with different purposes and applications (and at varying levels of expense); in general, no device is suitable for all possible applications. Traditionally, signal generators have been embedded hardware units, but since the age of software tone generators have also been available. multimedia- PCs, flexible, programmable

Procedure:
1. Open NI LabVIEW 9.0 and press 2. <Ctrl N> to open a blank VI. 3. Press <Ctrl T> to tile front panel and block diagram windows. Pull up the Functions Palette by right clicking on the white space on the LabVIEW block diagram window. 4. Move your mouse over the ExpressInput palette, and click the DAQ Assist Express VI. Click again on the white space of the LabVIEW block diagram to place the DAQ Assistant VI.

6. To configure a voltage measurement application with a DAQ, click on Analog OutputVoltage. Click the + sign, highlight channel ai0, and click Finish. This adds a physical channel to your measurement task. 7. Click OK to close the Express block configuration window to return to the LabVIEW block diagram.
