FORM 3 SWIBANS

1a) Reasons for studying C.R⋅E (7mks)

2a) Describe e the call Of Moses (7mks)

(1) Moses was looking after his fall-in-law's Sheep

(ii) An angel of the lord appeared to him in a burning bush which was not getting Consumed.

(iii) Moses turned to see the bust and God called him out the Bush.

(1v) He responded to Here I am.

(v) God revealed himself as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Moses Jacob.

(VI) Moses hid his face because of fear

(vii) He was commanded to go back to Egypt and save Israelites from bondage.

(VII) Moses was reluctant to go but God promised to be with him

ix) Moses inquired to know God's name & God revealed himself as “I AM WHOM I AM. "

(x) Moses was to assemble the elders and ask for Permission from Pharaoh to allow him to lead the
Israelites to the promised land.

xi) Israelite women were to borrow jewelry and clothes from Egyptian women

xii) God foresaw reluctance of Pharaoh but promised to send wonders in Egypt that would
eventually force Pharaoh to yield

b) Activities carried out on the night of Exodus

 Every man to chose a lamb or young goat for the family.


 The chosen animal was slaughtered
 Blood was smeared on the door
 The slaughtered animal was to be roasted
 The Israelites were to eat unleavened bread / bitter herbs with roasted meat
 They stayed indoors till morning
 They ate while fully dressed for the journey / in a hurry
 They burnt all the leftovers of the meat
 They collected jewelry / clothing from the Egyptians.

c) Importance of the Exodus 6mks

 It marked the end of oppression in Egypt


 They emerged as a community that has been chosen by God.
 Their God proved to be more powerful than the Egyptian gods
 The event confirmed Moses as Gods chosen leader
 It united the Israelites as one nation.
 It enabled them to serve God
 They received the ten commandments which guided them.
 It taught them that God needed obedience from human beings

i. Demand for a King was seen as a rejection of Yaweh as their unseen King
ii. The king would force their sons to serve him as soldiers
iii. The Israelites would be like other nation who did not know God.
