1. Compare and contrast modern science and philosophy of science.


 The modern science and the philosophy of science’s similarities are; Both of them
comes from a word origin that science means knowledge and philosophy means
knowledge, too. Also, both of them are actually disciplines which are concerned with the
reality and nature of things, and science was part of the philosophy as well. On the other
side, there are differences between the modern science and the philosophy of science,
too. And those are; science is a study of a natural phenomena and the philosophy is
based on reason especially that it uses techniques in logical basis.

2. What is scientific method? Enumerate the steps in the scientific method.


 The scientific method is a strategy used to try, observe, examine, and explain natural
science rationally by involving obtaining data and evaluating data. Then, there are
numerous steps to follow to properly execute a scientific observation and method and
here the following; First, we should know first what is our subject or the problem that we
are going to solve. Next, do observations. We must know if the problem requires or
needs to be observes first before actually conducting tests and experiments. Also, we
need to form our hypothesis, or our assumption. This will help us to have our ideas
ahead beforehand and actually be aware of everything we are doing. Then, execute the
experiments and tests if needed and therefore, we can produce outputs and solutions
regarding to the conducted problem. Lastly, prepare the solutions and the needed
conclusions.

3. What are the limitation of science?


 Science is magical, incontrollable, and powerful. In fact, it is almost impossible for
science to have it’s own end because of its broadness. But then, the science has some
list that makes it have its own limitation. For example, Science does not make
assumptions of any supernatural explanations. The science does not help us answer
them if there is really God existing or not. Also, Science does not make judgments. The
science cannot directly tell us the good and bad things about the worldly matters but the
science can help us give its causes and effects.
4. What do you think is the role of science and technology in our society today?
 The Science and Technology has already affected the whole world with its spectacular
way of making things better and possible. Now, it can contribute to our world by making
our lives better and better each day and that is the most important factor of science and
technology’s importance to people. Also, it can provide us better communication with the
use of high-tech phones and accessible networks, the more broad options for treating
everyone with their respective diseases with the use of developed medicines and
operational procedures and then, the commercial planes, high-tech cars, and public
vehicles made it easier for the people to travel across the land wherever they wanted to
explore. Thanks to science and technology.
