3. Job Set-up
Subtask 07-11-00-941-050-A
A. Safety Precautions
(1) Before the lifting operation, identify a safety area.
(Ref. Fig. Safety Area SHEET 1)
NOTE: Local safety regulations can contain additional rules and information
applicable to safety areas.
(2) Make sure that the safety devices are installed on the landing gears
(Ref. AMM TASK 32-00-00-481-001) .
(3) Install the CHOCK - WHEEL(S) at the wheels of the main landing gear.
(4) Make sure that the WARNING NOTICE(S) are in position in the cockpit.

B. General Information for Jacking
(Ref. Fig. Location of the Jacking/Safety Points SHEET 1)
(Ref. Fig. Different Heights of the Jacking/Safety Points)
(1) You must lift the aircraft at three points on the structure with three hydraulic jacks:
· One point is under the forward fuselage at FR8,
· The two other points are under the wings at RIB9.
When the aircraft is on jacks, put a safety stay between FR73 and FR74.
This prevents any accidental movement of the aircraft.
NOTE: You must not use the safety stay to lift the aircraft.
You can lift the aircraft with jacks when the tires and the shock absorbers are
deflated.
You can lift the aircraft at the forward jacking point only, with the wheels of the
main landing gear on the ground (Ref. AMM TASK 07-11-00-581-003) .
NOTE: We recommend that each of the hydraulic jacks has a load indicator to
monitor the load at each jacking point. If the hydraulic jacks have a load
indicator, this must have two scales:
- A scale with graduations in bars (psi)
- A scale with graduations in daN (lbf).
NOTE: The jack load capacity must be higher than the maximum permitted
structural load given in the text that follows.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE WEIGHT OF THE AIRCRAFT IS NOT MORE THAN
THE MAXIMUM WEIGHT SPECIFIED IN THIS PROCEDURE.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE LOAD ON THE JACKS IS NOT MORE THAN THE
MAXIMUM LOAD SPECIFIED IN THIS PROCEDURE.
NOTE: The maximum permitted aircraft weight for the jacking procedure is 59000 kg
(130072.70 lb).
(1) Make sure that you do not apply more than the permitted load at each jacking
point.
(2) At the point at FR8:
· The permitted load is 6800 daN (15287.01 lbf).
(3) At the points at RIB9, LH and RH wings:
· The permitted load is 28500 daN (64070.54 lbf).
(4) At the point between FR73 and FR74:
· The permitted load is 2000 daN (4496.18 lbf).

B. Aircraft Lifting
(1) Put the JACK - WING in position.
For the typical installation of the wing jacks, the adapters and the load cells, refer
to the drawing GLOBAL JACKING SA (98D07103001000) .
This drawing shows the Airbus recommended installation.
(2) Slowly operate the controls of the nose and the two wing jacks to lift the aircraft at
the same attitude.
NOTE: It is necessary to monitor the level attitude of the aircraft during all the
jacking procedure.
(3) Continue to lift the aircraft until you get sufficient clearance to do the maintenance
operation scheduled for the aircraft.
(Ref. Fig. Different Heights of the Jacking/Safety Points)
(Ref. Fig. Ground Clearance For Main Landing Gear (MLG) Main
Fitting SHEET 1)
(4) Make sure that the safety locknuts of the hydraulic jacks continue to touch the jack
collars while you lift the aircraft.
(5) Installation of the safety stay
(a) Set the JACK - SAFETY STAY and put it in position between FR73 and
FR74.
NOTE: The installation of the safety stay is necessary to keep the aircraft
stable during the maintenance operation.
(b) Operate the safety stay until it touches the safety point.
CAUTION: REMOVE THE SAFETY STAY BEFORE YOU DO THE LANDING GEAR
EXTENSION AND RETRACTION TESTS. DAMAGE TO THE FUSELAGE
CAN OCCUR IF THE AIRCRAFT MOVES DURING THE TESTS.
(6) If it is necessary to do the landing gear extension/retraction tests, make sure that
you remove the safety stay before the tests.
NOTE: The aircraft structure moves lightly during the extension/retraction test.
