Abstract: This study was conducted to assess the level of youth participation in Sangguniang Kabataan (SK)
activities, explore their perceptions of the duties and functions of the SK, and provide an overview of the current
level of participation and youth knowledge of SK duties and functions, seeking their recommendations for
improvement. The respondents were chosen through a purposive sampling technique with 52 respondents. The
researchers utilized a quantitative descriptive research design. An adapted survey instrument sourced from Castillo
et al., (2024) and Catapang (2024) was used. The data was analyzed using mean and the Likert Scale data analysis
approach. The level of youth participation in Sangguniang Kabataan activities shows a “Moderate” interpretation.
The level of perception toward SK officers' duties and functions is high, this suggests that young people recognize
SK’s presence in governance and its role in advocating for youth-related concerns. However, the youth’s
suggestions shared governance and its role for youth concerns, which highlight the youth's desire for the SK to play
a more comprehensive role in their community. The depiction that the respondents have a moderate participation
rate in activities of the Sangguniang Kabataan and the high suggestions of mental health awareness and well-being
activities enhancing youth participation are the basis for the intervention program to be implemented.
