Objective: To equip newly inducted workers with foundational masonry skills,


focusing on the correct tools and methods for various work types including block work,
Porotherm bricks, wire cut bricks, cement mortar, and plastering.

- Importance of masonry in construction

- Overview of common masonry materials

- Safety precautions and PPE (helmets, gloves, goggles)

2. Essential Masonry Tools & Their Uses

- Trowel: For spreading mortar, finishing joints

- Brick/Block Hammer: For chipping, cutting, and adjusting bricks/blocks

- Chisel: For precise cutting or shaping

- Spirit Level & Plumb Bob: To check horizontal and vertical alignment

- Masonry Line & Line Blocks: For straight, level courses

- Measuring Tape & Ruler: For accurate measurements

- Mixing Tools: Shovel, hoe, or mechanical mixer for mortar

- Cutting Equipment: Brick cutter, angle grinder for cutting bricks/blocks

- Wire Cutters: For reinforcing wire, if used

- Float & Trowel (for plaster): For finishing plaster surfaces
