Using the KML Circle Painter Tool
Step 1: Input File
Click the “Browse”
button at the top
center and navigate to
the Data Input.csv file
created earlier. All
RTK Network
information should be included in that file, before running this program.
Step 2 – Output Options – Draw Center Points
Verify that the “Draw Center Points” check box is checked. All
data entered in the spreadsheet will be displayed unless you
uncheck this box. The color of the center point can be changed
by clicking on the “Center Point Color” button.
Step 3: Output Options – Draw Coverage Circles
Check the “Draw Coverage Circles” check box to
display your coverage on Google Earth. Line and
area color of the circle can be changed by clicking
on the buttons. Transparency of each can also be
adjusted; 0 meaning no transparency and 100
meaning completely invisible. Lastly, circle
radius can be adjusted using the arrows on the
right hand side.
Step 4: Output File
After the program runs, a
kml file will be created and
outputted to whatever
folder location designated.
Simply click on the “Browse” button to choose the folder where the .kml file will reside. The file
name will default to “out.kml”. A new file name should be entered if multiple files will be created.
Step 5: Build the KML file
Click on the “Build KML File” button to generate the coverage map. Once completed, a link will
come up in blue in the bottom left hand corner. Click that link to open the file in Google Earth™.
