Type 1s:

The Reformer
Interactions with Other Enneagram Types

Type 1s, with their principled nature, engage in distinct ways with each of the other Enneagram
types. These interactions are shaped by their desire for improvement, integrity, and order,
leading to both synergies and challenges in relationships.

With Type 2 (The Helper):

Type 1s and Type 2s often form mutually supportive
relationships, with Type 2s offering the warmth and
empathy that can help soften Type 1's critical edges.
However, Type 1's insistence on correctness can
sometimes clash with Type 2's desire for appreciation and
approval.

With Type 3 (The Achiever):

Both driven and goal-oriented, Type 1s and Type 3s can form

powerful alliances, particularly in professional settings. Type 1s
appreciate Type 3's efficiency and drive, while Type 3s can benefit
from Type 1's integrity and attention to detail. Potential friction arises
when Type 1's perfectionism conflicts with Type 3's focus on
success.

With Type 4 (The Individualist):

Type 1s can be both intrigued and frustrated by Type 4's

emotional depth and unpredictability. Type 4s can teach
Type 1s about the value of authenticity and emotional
expression, while Type 1s can offer Type 4s stability and
structure. Misunderstandings may occur when Type 1's
need for order clashes with Type 4's need for
self-expression.
