1. RACK DESCRIPTION

1.1. Functional content

All rights reserved. Passing on and copying of this
document, use and communication of its contents
not permitted without written authorization.

This rack fully equipped provides for:

– 8 x DTM (Digital Trunk Modules) = 240 channels

– 6 x ASM (Analog Subscriber Modules) = 768 analog lines
– 2 x SCM (Service Circuit Modules) = 64 MF S/R (without conf. bridge)
= 32 HF S/R (with conf. bridge)
– 4 x ACE (Auxiliary Control Element)
–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
– 1(2) TSU (Terminal Sub Unit) = 2(4) AS (Access Switch)

1.2. Power figures

Rack consumption for actual traffic 0,2E = 1282W

All values are given in watts and should be taken as reference; detailed calculations, based upon latest
power figures, should be made for each application.

2. CONSIDERATION TO BUILD UP THE RACK

– This rack cannot be used as leadrack

– This rack provides DTM’s without cross–over.

In case of RIM application of DTM’s the strapping plugs, connecting the PCM–busses have to be
replaced by CAE dependent cabling in order to get two RIM’s crossed over.

– Rack cabling allows for double testbus or single testbus.

The double testbus facility can be used if the corresponding HW (PBA’s ALCX , TAUA and RNGA)
and SW are provided. In case of single testbus there must be used a jumpering plug (see strapping
options).

2.1. PBA equipment option

 RCLX Either PBA–RCLK or PBA–RCLA
+ RLMX Either PBA–RLMA or PBA–RLMB or PBA–RLMC
< TCPX Used TCPA or TCPB
ALCX Either PBA–ALCB or PBA–ALCK
In case of conf. bridge is required
– Equip PBA–SCB or BPA–conf in the positions 08::37 and/or 08::53
– PBA–MFP in positions 08::39 and/or 08::55 are not allowed to equip

 MCUX Either PBA–MCUA or PBA–MCUB
∆ MCUX Either PBA–MCUA or PBA–MCUB or PBA–MCUC
PBA–MCUC is supported from SKR7.4 onwards.

2.2. Cabling options

The DTM’s in this rack are cabled without cross–over.

The cross–over is needed in case of RIM’s and the cabling must be adapted for the related modules by

2.3. Strapping options

– In case of single testbus use plug 211 27908 AAGA in positions 01BA16 from SAU 02 , 03 , 06 and
07 and in positions 33BA16 from SAU 02 and 03.

– Cabling of ’C’–wires to the MDF

There are maximum 36 C–wires sense (CWS) and 36 C–wires drive (CWD) available per line
module, (128 lines) or a max. of 72 circuits per module can be equipped with C–wire drive/sense only.
If this cabling is required, the ’C’–wires have to be connected first on 4 input/output positions
(capacity 2x9 points) by means of strap wire (211 00293 1105 slate, section 0,25) under
responsibility of the CAE engineer (strap wires will be placed during the installation of the exchange).
From each of this input/output positions a cable 211 27999 XXXA is through connected to the MDF.
For detailed information about the position of the ’C’–wires on the line boards and the reserved I/O
positions see the added figure. The exact positions of the ’C’–wires on the I/O positions have to be
defined by the CAE engineer, taking into consideration that ’C’–wires for ’sense’ and for ’drive’ must
not be placed on two neighbouring horizontal terminals. (pairing of ’C’–wires for ’sense’ and for ’drive’

is forbidden).

For using of more ’C’–wires there must be make connections, directly to the line PBA’s with a special
cable.
