Family life
Met Magazine meets the Smith family from Brighton to talk about their very big family!
Met Magazine: Tom and Jill, how many children have you got?
Tom: Fifteen. We’ve got ten girls and five boys. I’ve got eight brothers, so this isn’t new
for me!
Jill: We’ve got a very busy house and Tom and I are always working! I’m making 10 big
pizzas right now!
Met Magazine: I take my hat off to you! Let’s talk to the children now. Callum, what do you think
of having a big family?
Callum: I love it. It is good fun to have lots of brothers and sisters because there is always
somebody to talk to and to do things with.
Met Magazine: Sarah, what do you think?
Sarah: Well, it’s good and bad. It’s good because everybody is supportive, but sometimes
it is difficult! My sisters, for example, are always taking my clothes! Things like
my shoes, dresses and accessories. Put yourself in my shoes. Imagine your sisters
always taking your clothes!
Met Magazine: Yes, that’s difficult, Sarah. And Jill, who is the most similar in the family?
Jill: Sarah and the girls have got long, brown, curly hair and blue eyes and they are
short like their dad, but their personalities are very different! The boys are tall and
they are all very calm like me!
Met Magazine: What are the other children doing at the moment?
Jill: They are playing sport right now. Everybody in our family loves sport. But they all
need to pull their socks up and work harder at school!
