On the ‘other hand, you are also expected to obtain a deep knowledge of solving derivatives of different kinds of functions using long method derivation Second Exam ~~] Week ato Multipie-Choice Type of Problem solving ‘Atype of assessment that enables you to demonstrate the basicrules of differentiation of algebraic Functions. These include product rule, quotient rule, chain rule, general power rule, etc. which is a practical way of differentiating algebraic functions. This assessment also enables you to solve higher order derivatives of Implicit and Explicit functions. Specifically, you are expected to solve problems related to differentiating implicit and explict functions to an nth order. Third Exar Week 6to? Multiple-Choice Type of Problem Solving This assessment is designed for you to demonstrate your comprehensive understanding and obtain deep knowledge about polynomial curves. Moreover, you are expected to solve and find the tangent and the normal equations of polynomial curves at a certain point; determine the critical points by locating the maximum and the minimum point/s of the given polynomial equations using the first derivative test and the second derivative test; as well as, determining the concavity of the curve by plotting and solving the critical points and the point of inflection. ‘EE LOI —Engineey ring Calculus t Date Revked August 2,202 Tavaion ra Date Haan | Paaeaof 3 2 August 2022 College of Engineering Education CEE 101 — COURSE SYLLABUS | ) | — See Fourth Exam Weeksto9 | “Multiple-Choice | Type of Problem Solving This type of assessment measures your comprehension on differentiation by applying these concepts and principles in solving real-world problems. Hence, you are expected to utilize the learnings you have galned from the previous topics and apply these concepts in solving optimization problems. In this case, your basic knowledge about differentiation would help you in solving problems that requires optimal solution, Fifth Exam| Week 10 to 12 Multipie-Choice ‘Type of Problem, Solving in this multiple-choice type of problem, you are | required to differentiate transcendental functions. Specifically, you are expected to solve the derivative of trigonometric and inverse trigonometric functions; as well as, apply these earnings in solving the maxima and the minima of the function. Additionally, the basic rule of differentiation is applicable in solving the derivative of transcendental functions. You also need to utilize your learnings from CEE 100 regarding trigonometric identities in deriving transcendental functions. Sixth Exarn | Week 13 to 14 Multipie-choice | Type of Problem Solving This type of assessment measures your ability to solve problems that involve exponential, logarithmic, and hyperbolic functions using differentiation. in this case, you are to apply the basic rules of differentiation and the basic formulas of derivatives of hyperbolic functions as well as to utilize the elementary properties ‘of exponential, logarithmic, and hyperbolic functions in solving its derivatives. ‘Seventh Exam Week 15 to 16 ‘Multipie-Choice Type of Problem Solving A type of assessment that is designed for you to enable your ability to solve problems related to parametric equations, partial derivatives, and limits of a function involving indeterminate forms. To be specific, you are expected to solve problems involving parametric ‘equations using differentiation as well as determining its critical points; solve the partial derivative of 2 function using basic rules of differentiation and basic formulas of derivation of some functions; and also, solving the limits of a function that involves Indeterminate forms using L’Hospital’s Rule. Final Exam Week ito 18 Muitiple-Choice Type of Problem Solving in this type of assessment, you are expected to apply differentiation techniques to solve and analyze curve tracing problems — increasing and decreasing functions, critical points, and concavity. You are also going to solve equations of tangents and normal to a given plane curve. Apply deep knowledge and analysis to optimization problems (maxima and minima applications), related time rates, and approximations.
