Computer Lab Policies & Rules for Teachers

For the smooth operation of the learning activities that take place in the computer laboratory,
kindly observe the following policies:

1. Reserve in Advance

• Reach out to the ICT coordinator for reservations at least 3 days prior using the
formal reservation document.

2. Instructional Use Only

• Avoid using the lab for personal or non-academic reasons during class hours.

3. Active Supervision Required

• Teachers have to be present with their students and supervising them for the entire
duration of the session. Students must not be left unattended in the lab.

4. No Food or Drink

• Eating and drinking in the lab poses a risk to the equipment and clean environment.

5. Respect the Equipment

• All computers are integrated into a network. Please do not unplug any hardware or
change any network settings.

• If something is malfunctioning, please report to the ICT coordinator or computer lab


custodian.

6. Clean Up After Use

• It is important for teachers to ensure that pupils have logged off and have pushed in
their chairs after use. Leave the lab as you found it.
7. Data Responsibility

• Students have to be reminded to save their work on flash drives. Files left on public
computers could be deleted.
8. Set the Standard

• As educators, it is our responsibility to set a good example by using technology


appropriately, as well as help students keep an orderly computer lab.
