MILESTONES IN BASKETBALL
Michael Jordan – Born February 17, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York. He dominated the game from the
mid-1980s to the late 1990s and is widely regarded as the most decorated player in NBA history. He
played for the Chicago Bulls and is 6 feet 6 inches tall. His net worth is estimated at over a billion
dollars.
LeBron James – Full name LeBron Raymone James, born December 30, 1984, in Akron, Ohio.
Standing 6 feet 8 inches tall, he signed a $90 million endorsement deal with Nike. He is considered one
of the greatest all-around players of all time and won NBA championships with the Miami Heat (2012–
2013), Cleveland Cavaliers (2016), and Los Angeles Lakers (2020).
Kobe Bryant – Nicknamed “The Black Mamba,” he was born August 23, 1978, in Philadelphia. He
won two Olympic gold medals (2008, 2012) with the U.S. national team and an Academy Award in
2018 for his animated short film Dear Basketball. He tragically passed away in a helicopter crash in
2020 along with his daughter Gianna and seven others. The NBA renamed the All-Star Game MVP
Award in his honor.
