UCEED 2025 - Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Practice Questions

Q1. If a cube is painted on all six faces and then cut into 64 smaller cubes of equal size, how many

cubes will have exactly one face painted?

Q2. A train travels 60 km at a uniform speed. If the speed had been 10 km/h faster, it would have

taken 1 hour less. Find the original speed of the train.

Q3. Find the area of the shaded region in the figure below. The large square has side 10 cm and the

four circles have equal radius.

Q4. A pattern is formed using matchsticks as shown. If the pattern continues, how many matchsticks

will be needed to form the 25th figure?

Q5. How many distinct 4-digit numbers can be formed using digits 1 to 5 such that no digit repeats?

Q6. What is the angle between the hands of a clock at 3:15?

Q7. A cylindrical container has a height of 10 cm and a diameter of 14 cm. What is the volume of the

container in cubic centimeters?

Q8. In a certain code, TRIANGLE is written as EGNALIRT. How will SQUARE be written in that

code?

Q9. The sum of the first n natural numbers is 210. Find the value of n.

Q10. A cube has a surface area of 294 cm2. What is the length of one side of the cube?

Q11. How many diagonals can be drawn in a polygon with 12 sides?

Q12. What is the smallest number that leaves a remainder of 1 when divided by 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6?

Answer Key and Solutions

Q1. There are 6 faces, and the cubes on the face but not on the edge of a face will have 1 side

painted. For a 4x4x4 cube (64 cubes), cubes with 1 face painted = 6 * (2^2) = 24.

Q2. Let original speed be x km/h. Time = 60/x, new time = 60/(x+10). Given: 60/x - 60/(x+10) = 1.

Solve the equation to get x = 30 km/h.

Q3. Each circle fits into 1/4 of the square. Area of square = 100 cm2. Radius of circle = 5 cm. Area

of 4 circles = 4*(*25) = 100. Shaded area = 100 - 78.54 = approx. 21.46 cm2.

Q4. The pattern increases by 3 matchsticks per figure. nth term = 2n + (n-1). For n=25, sticks = 2*25

+ 24 = 74.

Q5. Using digits 15, number of 4-digit numbers with no repetition = 5P4 = 120.

Q6. Angle = 30*hour - (11/2)*minutes = 30*3 - 11/2*15 = 90 - 82.5 = 7.5 degrees.

Q7. Volume = r2h = *(7)2*10 = 1540 cm3.

Q8. The word is reversed. So, SQUARE ERAUQS.

Q9. Sum = n(n+1)/2 = 210 n(n+1) = 420 n = 20.

Q10. Surface area = 6a2 = 294 a2 = 49 a = 7 cm.

Q11. Number of diagonals = n(n-3)/2 = 12*9/2 = 54.

Q12. LCM of 2,3,4,5,6 = 60. Smallest number that leaves remainder 1 = 61.
