Earth Hour
Earth Hour is just around the corner, on Saturday, March
22! But what exactly is it? Earth Hour is a global movement
led by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), where people across
the world switch off their lights for one hour to raise
awareness about the planet’s most pressing
environmental challenges. It all started on March 31, 2007,
in Australia, and now, 18 years later, it's become a
powerful symbol of unity and action.

Did you know that the Earth Hour of 2024 was

the biggest hour for earth? Supporters from
more than 180 countries and territories
collectively contributed over 1.4 million hours,
making it the biggest hour for Earth yet!

Here’s an interesting fact: Artificial lights from cities
can have a surprising impact on sea life—especially
🐢
baby sea turtles! Artificial lights can confuse baby
sea turtles, leading them away from the ocean when
they hatch. By turning off lights during Earth Hour, we

100K
help keep beaches dark and protect these vulnerable
creatures on their journey to the sea. It's a simple act
with a big impact!

Let’s help protect the planet by turning off our

lights and reducing our carbon footprint during

499
Earth Hour. It’s a fun and impactful way to show our
commitment to a more sustainable world. Whether
you're with family, stargazing, or just enjoying the
peace, Earth Hour reminds us that small actions
lead to big change. Let’s all take part and make a
difference!🌍
