Our Planet, Our Responsibility

Good morning, honorable judges, respected teachers, and beloved friends.

Today, I would like to speak with you about an issue that concerns each and
every one of us—the environment.
Our Earth is beautiful. It provides us with air to breathe, water to drink, and food
to eat. But sadly, this planet we call home is in danger. Forests are being cut
down. Rivers are being polluted. Animals are going extinct. The weather is
changing in unexpected ways. Floods, droughts, and heatwaves—are all signs
that our planet needs help.
Who is responsible for this? We are. Human activity has caused more
environmental damage in the last 100 years than in all of history before that. We
take nature for granted. We use plastic for convenience, burn fuel carelessly, and
carelessly throw away waste. But we must realize that every small action has a
big impact.
Now, I know what you’re thinking: “I’m just one person. What can I do?” But
remember, change always begins with one person. Start by using less plastic.
Turn off the lights when you leave a room. Don’t waste water. Plant a tree. Walk
or ride a bike instead of using a car. Encourage your family and friends to do the
same. Recycle. Reduce. Reuse. These simple actions can make a big difference.
We also need to raise our voices. Speak up about environmental issues. Support
laws and leaders who care about the planet. Educate others. Because the more
people understand, the more we can change together.
Friends, we don’t inherit the Earth from our ancestors—we borrow it from our
children. What kind of world do we want to leave behind? A planet full of trash,
pollution, and dying ecosystems? Or a clean, green, and thriving Earth? The
choice is ours. The responsibility is ours.
In conclusion, let’s be the generation that makes a difference. Let’s be the
caretakers, not the destroyers, of our planet. Let’s take action, not just talk.
Because saving the Earth is not someone else’s job. It’s our job. Thank you.
