Holidays are a welcome break from the usual school


routine, providing students with time to rest, relax, and
pursue their interests. During these periods, students
often receive holiday homework, which can include
assignments, projects, and readings to keep them
engaged and learning. This homework helps maintain
academic momentum and encourages self-directed
learning during the break..

Do all the holiday homework subject wise separately in


copies provided by school.

ENGLISH
1. Learn and write at least 50 three forms of verb in HHW copy.
2. Learn and write all the names of authors and poets of
lessons and poems from the both text books (The first flight
and Footprint without feet) in fHHW copy.
3. Write five formal letter (including letter to Editor, Placing
order & Enguiry letter) in HHW copy.
4. Write the description of undermentioned figure of speech
with examples in HHW copy.

Maths assignment Do the following questions:

1. Using Euclid‟s division algorithm, find the HCF of the


following. (a) 1288, 576 (b) 155, 1305 (c) 240, 1024
2. If the HCF of 210 and 55 is expressible in the form 210 × 5
+ 55y, find y.
3. Find the largest number which divides 245 and 1029
leaving remainder 5 in each case.
4. Using prime factorization, find the HCF and LCM of 72, 126
and 168. Also show that HCF x LCM ≠ product of the three
numbers.
5. The HCF of two numbers is 145 and their LCM is 2175. If
one number is 725, find the other.
6. If (x + k) is a factor of 2x² + 2kx + 5x + 10, find k.
7. If α and β are the zeroes of the polynomial p(x) = 3x² – 5x
+ 6, find (i) (α / β) + ( β / α ) (ii) α³ + β³
8. Find a polynomial whose zeros are squares of the zeroes
of the polynomial 3x² + 6x – 9.
9. If „1‟ is one of the zeroes of the polynomial p(x) = 7x – x³ –
6 find its other zeroes
10. Represent the following equations on the graph and
determine the vertices of the triangle, so formed . a) 2y –
x = 8, 5y – x = 14, y – 2 x = 1 b) y = x, y = 0, 3x + 3y =

11. Draw the graph of x – y + 1 = 0 and 3x + 2y –12 = 0.
Calculate the area of the triangle bounded by these lines
and the x-axis.
12. Solve the system of equations x – y = 1, 2x + y = 8
graphically .Shade the area bounded by these lines and x-
axis. Also find its area.
13. A man has belts and handkerchiefs which are
together 40 in number. If he had 5 more handkerchiefs
and 5 less belts, the number of handkerchiefs becomes
four times the number of belts. Find the original number of
each.
14. The age of father is twice the sum of ages of his two
children. Ten years hence, the age of father will be three-
quarter of the sum of the ages of his children then. Find
the present age of father.
15. The numerator of a fraction is 4 less than its
denominator. If the numerator is decreased by 2 and the
denominator is increased by 1,the denominator becomes
8 times its numerator. Find the fraction

SCIENCE
1. Read chapter-2 (Acids Base and Salts), Chapter -6 (control
and co-ordination) and chapter-9 (light.)
2. Write the following notes in your H.H.W copy.

* properties of acids bases and salts,

* Manufacturing of

(a) caustic soda

(b) baking soda

(c) P.O.P. and

(d) bleaching powder.

*Explanation with the help of diagram

(a) reflex action

(b) structure of human brain.

* Explanation of laws of refraction of light with the help of


diagram and the image formation by a convex lens of an
object located at different position.

3. Perform an activity based on anyone of the following


Chemical reaction- combination, decomposition,
displacement or double displacement reaction, and write
about it in your H.H.W. copy .
4. Make an audio visual presentation on any topic or any live
demonstration of any activity from your syllabus. Also
make a report about it in your H.H.W project file with
some proper pictures
