Wi Fi (Wireless Fidelity) System

Supply, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Wi Fi (Wireless Fidelity) System

Technical Specification

Wireless Technology is an alternative to Wired Technology which is commonly used for connecting devices
in wireless mode. Wi-Fi Network connects computers to each other, to the internet and to the wired
network. A Wi-Fi hotspot is created by installing an access point to
an internet connection. An access point acts as a base station.
The standard for wireless local area networks (WLANs). It’s like a common language that all the devices use
to communicate to each other. If you have a standard, people can make all sorts of devices that can work
with each other.
When Wi-Fi enabled device encounters a hotspot the device can then connect to that network
wirelessly. A single access point can support up to unlimited users. The router which can be used will cover
the range of 400 meter circular. Many access points can be connected to each other via Ethernet cables to
create a single large network. The system shall be having state-of the- art technology and may be connected
with internet / intranet in future.

RDSO specification: RDSO/SPN/TC/91/2012, REV-1.0 OR LATEST needs to be followed.

Technical Specifications
Elements of a WI-FI Network
• Access Point (AP)
• Wi-Fi cards
• Safeguards
• Gateways

The AP is a wireless LAN transceiver or “base station” that can connect one or many wireless devices
simultaneously to the Internet. They accept the wireless signal and relay information. They can be internal
and external. Any communication has to go through AP. Firewalls and anti-virus software protect networks
from uninvited users and keep information secure. Access points and gateways have a wide range of features
and performance capabilities, but they all provide this basic network. There is an Access Point (AP), which
becomes the hub of a “star topology.”
Setting up a common open network backbone, wherein different categories of users and applications shall
be supported:
High Capacity, Highly Scalable Backbone
Provide QOS and Security
Wide Geographical Coverage
Common Standard Platform
Highly Reliable and Available by Design
Test beds for (for various implementation) Dedicated and owned

Available Resources and resources to build:

The countrywide network shall be built over mainly the fiber (Optical Ground Wire, Web management
Gigabit Ethernet PoE switch featuring 24 Gigabit port woth Poe+ support and w SFP Ports for Fibre
connectivity]. Service provides a flexible web management Interface that simplified the configuration of
switch features. Wireless access point inables communication between wireless and wired
notebooks/desktop computers in the network. It complies with IEEE 802.11n standard and is backward
compatible with IEEE 802.11b/g standard. Wireless access point can provide wireless data transmission rate
up to 300 Mbps which enhances the sharing of files, photo, audio, video and gaming experience over
wireless network. This shall be easy installation by eliminating the need of a dedicated power source for
the access point. Billing software server includes a top performance full featured RADIOU server and billing
engine.
Billing and policy control:
Convergent Billing prepaid and postpaid
Multi services, ISP, WiFi, VOIP, WImax, Mobile and LTE
RADIOUS Module
Diameter module
IPv6 module
Learn more: Convergent Billing.
Power supply: 230VAC 50-60Hz.

All WIFI module may be connected through network switch and service provider will provide the
connection. The Wi-Fi units will be placed in the railway station adequately.

Portable Service Terminal for operation and maintenance purpose required featuring as follows:

System requirement: Original Windows 10 software, i7 10th generation, 1 TB HDD, 500 GB SDD, 12GB
RAM, 4GB GRAPHIC CARD NVIDIA, Antivirus for 2-year licence MIN 15.6 INCH PORTABLE SYSTEM
REQUIRED or as per the instruction received from the authorizes person.
ALL IN ONE WIFI PRINTER AS SITE REQUIREMENT IS ALSO REQUIRED.

Training: 07 days Operation and maintenance training shall be imparted for at least 15
officials.
