Guidelines for Internship Program B.Com and BBA Program
The internship program aims to provide B.Com and BBA students with valuable practical experience,
enhance their employability, and bridge the gap between academia and industry. This internship course
aims to provide students with an integrative learning experience that combines professional work in a real-
world organisation with rigorous academic research. Students will develop and apply theoretical knowledge
to practical challenges through an action research project, enhancing their problem-solving, critical
thinking, and communication skills. This course aims to bridge the gap between academic study and
professional practice, preparing students for successful careers in their chosen fields.
1. Pre-Internship Phase
• Orientation Session: Each student will be assigned to a faculty referred as “faculty mentor” The
faculty mentor should conduct an orientation session to familiarize the importance of the internship
and the outcome of the program.
• Support Internship Placement: Faculty Mentor have to play active roles during the internship and
support students seeking opportunities that align with their career goals and academic background.
(Internship request letter will be provided based on the student request)
2. Internship Phase
• Duration: The students of B.Com and BBA after the completion of their 4th semester examination
and before the commencement of 5th semester classes should undergo Internship training for
minimum 4 weeks (20 hours per week).
• Tasks and Responsibilities of Interns during Internship: The area of Internship can be in the any
area of Commerce or Management. The choice of internship is in no way associated with choice of
electives. The student shall seek the guidance of the internal guide on a continuous basis and abide
by the applicable policies and norms of the organization during the period of the internship. Further,
students are expected to understand the background information about the company, including its
history, mission, vision, and organizational structure organization and the industry/field. In addition,
the student can analyse the functional department and departments where the student worked,
including their roles, and responsibilities. The students can further focus on evaluation of the
industry in which the company operates, including trends, challenges, and opportunities. Analysis
of the company's financial performance can also be included in the study
3. Post-Internship Phase
• Certificate from the Organisation: Post completion of the internship, the student has to obtain a
certificate from the company. (Time period of the internship and a brief description of the nature of
the internship)
• Submission of Internship Report: After completion of the Internship the students are required to
submit an Internship. The report should be submitted at the beginning of 5th semester.
• Format of the Report: The student has to submit 2 copies (1. Student copy 2.University copy) of
the report. The report should be on A4 size paper printed on both sides, maintaining font type Times
New Roman, font size of 12 for text, 12 bold for sub headings, 14 bold for headings. The document
should have 1.5 line spacing, justified and with page numbering.

o Roles & responsibilities as an Intern.

o Learning from the internship
(This chapter describes the intern's experience while working in the organisation, including
the tasks undertaken, skills acquired, challenges faced, and lessons learned. Further, the
students need to mention outcomes of the internship, including the findings, conclusion and
summarizing the key points and suggesting recommendations for improvement. (around 20
pages)
