1.

Use CAD to finish the graphics and

typesetting within effective
dimensional range. Here we take the
desktop board for example.
Procedures include double-grooving,
hole-drilling for installation and round
through-hole drilling.

2. Save the document to specified

folder and choose the DXF format for
the file.

3. Open ArtCAM and

create the new pattern
3. Fill in the dimensions of the work-piece in millimeter then
press Enter.

4. Open “file” →“import” →”import vector data”, then open the

corresponding file.
4. Input file: press enter to verify that the file unit is in
millimeter.

5. Operation interface is as shown below; graphics imported.

6. Click the graphic to be
modified then right-click and
choose “deformation vector”→”location and origin” set to lower
left quarter. X and Y set to zero.
6.Check if the typesetting is within the dimension of the work-
piece. Modify until it is correct.
7. Combine the processes with the same manufacturing
procedure, depth and the same cutter together.
9.Starting point of profile selection: set it the top left corner as
the starting point for external profile cutting. Choose “vector
tool” →”node editing” →click on the profiles to be machined
separately to check if the starting point is correct (upper
left/upper right ), move the mouse to the angular point to be
set up; when mouse pointer shows cross then right click and
choose P-starting point; set up is finished if the corresponding
angular point turns green.

10. Way to increase tools
10.1 Open tool data base and choose
increase tools
10.2
Description: need to visually display the No. of the spindle that
the tool installed on and dimension for the easy tool selection
with the program. (e.g.: Tool T1 and diameter D6) .
Diameter and down cutting step: input the tool dimension
accordingly; input the proper data according to the length of the
tool.
Row pith: input the tool radius or 50% of the tool proportion.
Motor spindle RPM: set the RPM according to different
manufacturing processes
Feed rate/cutting speed: set the parameters according to the
tool dimensions and performance of the machine
11.Tool path: click the graphic to be processed and choose the
procedure needed like profiling, vector processing, drilling etc.

e.g.: choose : removal of two dimensional region; input the

corresponding processing data.
Depth: input the depth needed to be processed.
Processing safety height: 30mm or as required
Tool list: choose the tools needed and check if the data is
correct.
Regional removal strategy: choose according to the processing
method of the work-piece.
Tool path: numbered input for the tool path and name of
processing for the easy sequencing later on.
12.Tool path
sequencing: from
left to right, front to
back for processing.
12.1Choose tool path sequencing and
click the tool paths need to be
sequenced. The icons display the
marshalling sequence as system
default.
12.2 The cursor displays symbol 1, follow up the relative
principles and click on the tool paths for sequencing. The cursor
switches over to the next sequential number; continue to click
until sequencing is finished.
12.3 Choose left tool bar for “reset” in case of abnormity.

13. Set the

tool path and choose the tool path in the toolbar and click “save
(s)”. Check the tool path→sequential selection→save tool path
as single file→click ”save” in the lower right corner→saved to
specified folder to generate corresponding programming file.
Attention for programming and type setting:
1. For small work-piece, try to locate it in the middle and do not
pile up together.
2. If it is necessary, rotate the work-piece during type-setting to
maximize output co-efficiency.
3. Processing principle: first small work-piece then big work-
piece; inside part first then outside part.
4. Try to avoid tool changing during programming the tool path.
