The District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Sundargarh directed IRCTC and Confirm

Ticket Online Solution Pvt Ltd to pay Rs.10,000 to Chandrakanta Bhuyan for failing to provide a full

refund on automatically canceled train tickets. The partial refund of Rs.310 instead of Rs.478 was

considered unfair. The commission found both parties guilty of service deficiency and mandated full

compensation plus interest if unpaid in 30 days.

The Ghaziabad Consumer Commission ordered SBI General Insurance to pay Rs.1,08,275 to Gyan

Prakash Saxena after storm damage to his house. The insurer had wrongly reduced the claim citing

the propertys old condition. The commission ruled that the insurer was liable for the full assessed

damage since the policy was valid. Compensation for mental agony and legal fees was also

awarded.

mental distress.
