INTRODUCTION TO CAMPUS
CAMPUS is a three-level, academic English course which

is created for developing students’ reading and writing skills

throughout their studies (CEFR A1 – B2). The vocabulary

presented in model texts enables students to master the theme

related vocabulary which guides them to create their own writing

at the end of each unit. In addition, the grammar section before

writing helps students understand the target structures and gives

them the opportunity to practise, which is necessary to write the

task.

CAMPUS provides language learners with some authentic

practice and challenges them to think critically about the work

they have completed, and to reflect on what they have learned.

CAMPUS develops and builds confidence in different skills,

and enables students to gain new perspectives to understand

the real world. It aims to enhance the linguistic competence and

independence of language learners. By doing tasks independently,

students monitor their own progress, and increase their level of

autonomy.

Each unit starts with a video that prepares students for the unit

by raising their awareness on the topic and introduces the unit

task.

I want to go on holiday, but I can’t

options are Italy and Norway. Can you
share your opinions?

25 July 2021 Time: 16:30

H ello Elizabeth. I think you should go to Italy because it is the

best place to go on holiday in the world. Firstly, it is hotter than
Norway. The weather is sunnier, and there are a lot of wonderful
beaches, so you can go swimming and sunbathing. Secondly, people
are friendlier than those in Norway. You can make new friends and
hang out with them. Thirdly, transportation is easier in Italy. There
are many different means of transport such as underground, buses
and gondolas. For example, travelling by gondola is one of the most
enjoyable ways to see Venice. Also, Italian food is more delicious
25 July 2021 Time: 16:40 than the food in Norway. In Italy, you should try the local food. Italian
people make the best and the most delicious pizza and pasta. Finally,
Francesca life is cheaper in Italy. Hotels and restaurants are less expensive than
the ones in Norway. I think everyone should visit Italy because it is
one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

H i Elizabeth. I am from Norway. I think it is a great place to visit.

Firstly, it is one of the happiest places in the world. People are
more peaceful and polite. They can help you when you have a problem
because most people in Norway can speak English very well. Secondly,
it is one of the safest countries in the world. The crime rate is lower
than Italy. Thirdly, during summer months, the days are longer, so
you can do a lot of activities within a day. For example, you can go
sightseeing and take photos of beautiful landscapes. When the days are
shorter, between October and March, you can see the Northern Lights.
25 July 2021 Time: 16:45 Also, Norway is less crowded than Italy. There isn’t much traffic
and there aren’t many cars because people prefer travelling by bike.
Eirik Finally, the streets are cleaner in Norway. There are many green areas
and fewer buildings, so Norway is a more relaxing holiday destination
for many tourists. I think you should come to Norway to have the most
enjoyable time of your life.
