AFTER COMPLETING HIGH SCHOOL, I WAS PREPARING TO PURSUE HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE UNITED
STATES.

HOWEVER, A MEDICAL EMERGENCY DISRUPTED MY PLANS WHEN I WAS HOSPITALIZED DUE TO A


SIGNIFICANT SPIKE IN BLOOD PRESSURE AT THE AGE OF 16.

I WAS PLACED ON MEDICATION, AND UNDER MY PARENTS' GUIDANCE, I POSTPONED MY PLANS UNTIL I
MADE A FULL RECOVERY.

DURING THIS GAP PERIOD, I CHOSE TO ENHANCE MY PRACTICAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE IN THE
SCIENTIFIC FIELD.

FROM MAY 2022 TO MARCH 2023, I WORKED AS A LAB ASSISTANT AT SWATI SADAN COLLEGE AND
SCHOOL, WHERE I GAINED PRACTICAL WITH LABORATORY SPECIMENS AND CHEMICALS.

IN APRIL 2023, I BEGAN A 6-MONTH INTERNSHIP AS A PROJECT TRAINEE WITH A PROMINENT


INTERNATIONAL NGO UNDER THE PROJECT TITLED "INNOVATIONS IN AGRICULTURE AND LIVESTOCK
VALUE CHAINS DEVELOPMENT (IALVC)."

FOLLOWING THE INTERNSHIP, I WAS PROMOTED TO JUNIOR PROJECT MANAGER WITHIN THE SAME
PROJECT.

IN THIS ROLE, I TRAVELED ACROSS DIFFERENT REGIONS OF NEPAL, ACQUIRING PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE
ABOUT ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES, LIVESTOCK, AND RURAL FARM LIFE.

WITH THE INTENTION OF APPLYING TO US. UNIVERSITIES, I TOOK THE IELTS IN NOVEMBER 2024 AND
SCORED WELL.

I CONTINUED WORKING ON THE PROJECT UNTIL JANUARY 2025, GAINING OVER A YEAR OF
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE BEFORE RESIGNING TO FOCUS ON MY UNIVERSITY APPLICATIONS.

IN MARCH 2025, I APPEARED FOR THE SAT, AND I AM PROUD TO HAVE SECURED ADMISSION TO
LOUISIANA TECH UNIVERSITY, WHERE I PLAN TO MAJOR IN ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE.

DURING MY TIME AS A JUNIOR PROJECT OFFICER WITH HEIFER INTERNATIONAL NEPAL, I HAD THE
OPPORTUNITY TO WORK CLOSELY WITH FARMERS IN REMOTE VILLAGES AS PART OF THE IALVC
PROJECT. THIS EXPERIENCE ALLOWED ME TO DEVELOP BOTH TECHNICAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
WHILE CONTRIBUTING MEANINGFULLY TO AGRICULTURAL AND LIVESTOCK DEVELOPMENT. MY

ORGANIZING AND LABELING CHEMICALS AND SUPPLIES ACCURATELY

HELPING MONITOR THE USAGE AND LOCATION OF CHEMICALS AND REPORTING INVENTORY TO SENIOR
STAFF
PERFORMING AND DOCUMENTING MINOR EQUIPMENT REPAIRS, SUCH AS REPLACING MICROSCOPE
EYEPIECES OR SLIDES

SUPPORTING LAB SAFETY PROTOCOLS BY ENSURING STUDENTS WORE LAB COATS, SAFETY GOGGLES,
AND GLOVES

THIS EXPERIENCE HELPED ME POLISH MY LABORATORY EXPERIENCE ALONG WITH THE KNOWLEDE OF
