Sub: AOH Maintenance schedule of Tower Wagons at Diesel Loco Sheds.

AOH of Tower Wagons was being done at ELS/BZA, KZJ, LGD and DLS/GTL.
Henceforth, AOH schedules of all Tower Wagons will be carried out at Diesel Loco sheds as
detailed below:

Maintenance schedules of 8-wheeler Tower Wagon should be carried out as per RDSO
SMI No. TIlMI/0043/Rev.2 and additional activities issued by PCEE/SCR from time to time.
Maintenance schedules of 4-wheeler Tower Wagon should be carried out as per RDSO
SMI No' fI/Ml/0O52/Rev.0 and additional activities issued by PCEE/SCR from time to time.
Accordingly, diesel sheds have to acquire requisite know how about the activities involved
in AOH of Tower wagons. Staff from Diesel Loco sheds should be imparted training at Loco sheds
where similar activities are carried out at present. EIS/BZA is nominated for training in the areas
of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and pantographs etc. DLS/BZA is nominated for training in
mechanical and electrical items etc.
Diesel sheds should procure the required material and M&P in consultation with respective
Liaison TrD officers. Liaison ST.DEE/TRD for the nominated diesel shed will give assistance by
furnishing the technical details required for procurement. However, till the procurement is
materialised Liaison ST.DEE/TRD will arrange the material to diesel sheds required for carrying
out the AOH.
This issues with the approval of PCEE.

3. Mechanical side Checks to be carried out additionally, other than those mentioned in SMI
a) Tower Car should be lifted necessarily and the bogie frame and centre pivot should be checked
as per RDSO SMI No. TI/MI/0043/Rev.2
b) Check traction motor axle cap bolts for tightness and seal with 16 gauge GI wire.
c) Discard the wick pad if fabricating surface is damaged or wornout.
d) In case of roller bearings for the traction motors, grease sample testing to be done. In case of any abnormality,
Bearings have to be replaced.
e) In case of sleeve bearings for the traction motors, the condition of the sleeve bearings to be checked
and be replaced in case of any abnormality.
f) Greasing to be done for lifting platform beam and swiveling gears.
