1 Purpose

This document contains process steps that have to be done as prerequisite before you can start to work through the standard test scripts of selected logistics
scenarios.
In this document, you find a description of how to create and execute a product costing run for materials used in your company / plant. The purpose is to plan
costs for materials without reference to orders, and set prices for materials and other cost accounting objects.
You can use Product Cost Planning to analyze the costs of your company’s products such as:
● Manufactured materials
● Services
● Other intangible goods

2 Prerequisites

This section summarizes all the prerequisites for conducting the test in terms of systems, users, master data, organizational data, other test data and busi-
ness conditions.

2.1 System Access

2.2 Roles
Assign the following business roles to your individual test users. Alternatively, if available, you can create business roles using the following spaces with
pages and predefined apps for the SAP Fiori launchpad and assign the business roles to your individual test users.
These roles or spaces are examples provided by SAP. You can use them as templates to create your own roles or spaces.

SAP Best Practices .

2.3 Required Organizational Units


To create a costing run, you need to specify the Controlling Area and the Company Code.

2.4 Mandatory and Optional Master Data


BOM data records may refer to other master data. The following table gives an overview of optional and mandatory master data objects that are to be used
in a BOM.

2.5.1 Costing Variant
Costing Variant defines a link between the application and Customizing, since all cost estimates are carried out and saved with reference to a costing variant.

If your system administrator has enabled spaces and pages on the SAP Fiori launchpad, the homepage will only contain the essential apps for performing the
typical tasks of a business role.
You can find all other apps not included on the homepage using the search bar.
If you want to personalize the homepage and include the hidden apps, navigate to your user profile and choose App Finder.

Choose Execute, which displays in the Execute column, and the status light for the Se-
lection row turns green.

6 Create Cost For the Costing row, choose the Change Parameter button. On the Costing Run: Cost Costing Run is executed.

choose Save.
Choose Back
Choose Execute, which displays in the Execute column and the status light for the
Costing row turns green.

7 Create Cost From the menu, choose Edit > Costing Results. Costing Run is executed.
Estimates If the status light for this row is red, review the Costing levels report. Correct errors in
the report. To re-run the costing (if necessary), repeat steps for Struct. Explosion and
Costing Rows.

8 Create Cost On the Analysis row, choose the Change Parameter button. Select SAP&11 for the Costing Run is executed.

ground Processing indicator and then choose Save.
Choose Back.
Choose Execute, which displays in the Execute column.

9 Create Cost On the Marking row, choose the Lock button. Costing Run is executed.

In the dialog box that appears, enter the costing variant of PYC1 and the costing ver-
sion of 1, and then choose Enter. The status light of the row turns green.
Choose Back.
Choose Change Parameter and deselect Background Processing.
Choose Save.
Choose Back, and choose Execute.
