By measuring each U/C component and recording the worn size,


you can determine how much use is left in the part.

Measuring gives information on how long the components can last


under the current operating conditions and how they should be
maintained in the future.

PROCEDURE:
1. Measure Pitch Lenght of four links @
more than three links away from Master
Link / Master Pin.
2. The measurement should be made from
one side of a Pin to the same side of the
fifth Pin away (which includes four
Links).

HOT PIN CHECK for SALT (Before measuring Link Pitch Extention)

Check for oil leakage @ SALT Systems:


(use a thermometer or sipmly touch it)
1. Operate the machine at least for 30 minutes.
2. Check Pin temperature:
• HOT: Can’t be continuously touched (>50 °C)
• WARM: Like warm water (35 – 40 °C)
• COLD: Normal temerature (around 25 °C)

Hot temperatures indicate loss of lubrication oil.


If no hot pin, You can skip to measure link pitch

2. In case of Swamp Shoes, take
measurements @ 100mm away from
Shoe Edge.

surface of the Center Flange and the
Tread Surface.

PROCEDURE (Direct Measurements) :

1. Use the Outside Calliper to measure the


diameter of the Track Rollers.
2. Don’t forget to measure all Track Rollers!

SONIC MEASUREMENT / MEASUREMENTS / LINK PITCH

PROCEDURE:
1. Measure Pitch Lenght of four links @ more
than three links away from Master Link /
Master Pin.
2. The measurement should be made from one
side of a Pin to the same side of the fifth Pin
away (which includes four Links).
3. Enter the measured value into the Ultrasonic
Tool by using the UP & DOWN arrow buttons,
than confirm the value by pressing the ENTER
button.

PROCEDURE:
1. Use the Ultrasonic Tool to measure the Link Height.
2. Put a drop of Gel on the Probe and press the Probe against
the surface of the Link as shown in the picture.
3. Wait until the small LED becomes green, then remove the
Probe very quickly. The figure on the display should stay. If
not, please repeat the measurement.
4. Accept the measured value by pressing the ENTER button.
5. The measured value represents the width of the Bushing press
fitting section of the Link.
6. Don’t forget to check for cracked Links!

SONIC MEASUREMENT / MEASUREMENTS / BUSHING

PROCEDURE:
1. Use the Ultrasonic Tool to measure the Bushing Wall
Thickness.
2. Put a drop of Gel on the Probe and press the Probe against
the worn side of the Bushing as shown in the picture.
3. Wait until the small LED becomes green, then remove the
Probe very quickly. The figure on the display should stay. If
not, please repeat the measurement.
4. Accept the measured value by pressing the ENTER button.
5. The measured value represents the thickness of the Bushing
Wall.

PROCEDURE:
1. Use the Ultrasonic Tool to measure the Grouser Height.
2. The measurement should be taken at the ¼ or the ¾ of
the Shoe Plate.
3. Put a drop of Gel on the Probe and press the Probe
against the Grouser as shown in the picture.
4. Wait until the small LED becomes green, then remove the
Probe very quickly. The figure on the display should stay.
If not, please repeat the measurement.
5. Accept the measured value by pressing the ENTER
button.
6. Don’t forget to check for cracked Shoe Plates!

1. Use the Ultrasonic Tool to measure the
Carrier Roller Tread Wear.
2. Put a drop of Gel on the Probe and press
the Probe against the Carrier Roller as
shown in the picture.
3. Wait until the small LED becomes green,
then remove the Probe very quickly. The
figure on the display should stay. If not,
please repeat the measurement.
4. Accept the measured value by pressing the
ENTER button.
5. Always refer to the Measuring Point Table
for correct measurement places!

PROCEDURE:
1. Use the Ultrasonic Tool to measure the Front Idler Step.
2. Put a drop of Gel on the Probe and press the Probe
against the Idler as shown in the picture.
3. Wait until the small LED becomes green, then remove the
Probe very quickly. The figure on the display should stay.
If not, please repeat the measurement.
4. Accept the measured value by pressing the ENTER
button.
5. Always refer to the Measuring Point Table for correct
measurement places!

PROCEDURE:
1. Use the Ultrasonic Tool to measure the Track Roller Tread
Wear.
2. Put a drop of Gel on the Probe and press the Probe
against the Track Roller as shown in the picture.
3. Wait until the small LED becomes green, then remove the
Probe very quickly. The figure on the display should stay.
If not, please repeat the measurement.
4. Accept the measured value by pressing the ENTER
button.
5. Don’t forget to measure all the Track Rollers!

1. Use the Ultrasonic Tool to measure Sprocket wear.
2. Put a drop of Gel on the Probe and press the Probe against the
Sprocket / Segments as shown in the picture.
3. Wait until the small LED becomes green, then remove the
Probe very quickly. The figure on the display should stay. If not,
please repeat the measurement.
4. Accept the measured value by pressing the ENTER button.
5. Always refer to the Measuring Point Table for correct
measurement places!
