Display of Messages

Introduction When you work with the FPGA Programming Blockset, messages inform you
about possible problems or upcoming actions. The messages are issued in the
MATLAB Command Window or in dialogs. They provide links and/or buttons
for you to open the related topic in the FPGA Programming Blockset Message
Reference, which contains more information.

Message types The following message types are available:

§ Error (E)
Error messages give you information about failed actions. They might be
preceded or followed by other messages that describe the reason for the error
in more detail.
§ Warning (W)
Warnings give you hints about model parameters that might cause concern or
issues, for example.
§ Note (N)
Notes give you information about successfully completed actions. They do not
require any action or confirmation.
§ Question (Q)
Questions prompt your confirmation before a specific action is performed.

Message format in the Messages displayed in the MATLAB Command Window have the following
MATLAB Command Window format:
<message type> #<number>: <title> <message>

Placeholder Description
<message Displays the message type. In the MATLAB Command
type> Window, the following message types are displayed:
§ Error
§ Warning
§ Note

Note

Questions are always displayed in message dialogs.

<number> Shows you the number (unique ID) of the message.

Clicking the number opens the related topic in the
FPGA Programming Blockset Message Reference for more
information.
<title> Shows the title of the message.
<message> Contains detailed information about the problem. It can
also contain links to model elements that caused the error.
Clicking the links highlights the related elements in the
model.

Message dialogs Messages issued in dialogs prompt you to confirm the upcoming action or to
decline it, respectively. Additionally, the message dialogs provide a Help button
that lets you open the related topic in the FPGA Programming Software Message
Reference for more information.
