IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES
1. Candidates applying for online/ offline entrance exam for multiple programmes are required to pay
the fees separately for each course. However, For Organic Chemistry and Analytical Chemistry
candidates must fill only one form.
2. Candidates must upload the following prescribed documents with the application:
Photograph and signature (max size 300kb jpg/gif/png)
Soft copy of statement of marks of qualifying examination passed if applicable (required for
eligibility), not required for students if their final results are not Published (Pursuing student)
Soft copy of statement of marks of last semester (e.g. Sem. 5) of qualifying examination (in
case, the final terminal exam result is not declared at the time of application.)
Soft copy of caste certificate issued by Govt. of Maharashtra in case of Reserved category
candidates (if applicable). As per Govt. of Maharashtra rules, reserved category candidates
belonging to state other than Maharashtra (other state) are treated as Open (General)
category.
Soft copy of valid Non-creamy layer certificate issued by the Govt. of Maharashtra in case
of reserved category (OBC/DTNT/SBC) (if applicable). Soft copy of certificate issued by
Govt. of Maharashtra in case of EWS students.
Soft copy of Medical certificate issued by Civil Surgeon in case of person with disabilities
(P.H.) candidates (if applicable).
3. Students are NOT required to submit the printout of the application form after online submission of
application.
4. Resolving tie in entrance marks –
a) In case of candidates securing equal marks in the Entrance Exam, the preference clause (if
applicable under eligibility) will be considered.
b) If the tie persists, then marks secured in the qualifying examination will be taken into
consideration (Principal subject Total Marks for all departments except Biotechnology and
Biochemistry; Grand Total Marks for Biotechnology and Biochemistry).
c) If the tie still persists, then date of birth of the candidate will be considered
d) If the tie still persists, the alphabetical ordering of the first name of the candidate will be taken
into consideration.
5. A candidate will lose his/her claim to the seat and admission will be cancelled if he/she fails to submit
the required documents at the time of admission within stipulated time. Admission will be confirmed
only after submission and verification of all documents and payment of fees within stipulated time.
6. Reservation:
a) Reservation in admission to M.A. / M.Sc. programmes shall be as per rules and regulations of
Government of Maharashtra laid down from time to time including candidates with disabilities
and defense personnel’s child/ex-serviceman’s child.
b) 90% of the seats are for candidates from home university (i.e. Savitribai Phule Pune University
SPPU) and 10% of the seats are for candidates belonging to universities other than SPPU.
c) Reservation for SBC category as per Government of Maharashtra rules(SPPU Circular
आरक्षण/ ११/ ४७५ dt 28/04/2011).
d) Supernumerary quota will be as per provision of Ordinance 181-A amended, University Order
(Circular No. PGS/1224/25 dated 12/04/2019).
7. For admission to College Hostel the candidates will have to apply for hostel seats only after they
have secured admission to the respective M.Sc. / M.A. programmes.
*Admission will be done following all rules and regulations of Government of Maharashtra, Savitribai
Phule Pune University and Fergusson College (Autonomous), Pune. The Principal, Fergusson College
(Autonomous) Pune, holds the right to amend or update any of the information provided above. The
changes, if any, will be updated on the college website from time to time.
*Students will be required to come to Fergusson College Campus to appear for off line entrance
examination
