 Domain: A domain is the address of a website on the internet, t's like the nameplate or address
that tells people where to find your website.

 Domain Name: The unique name of your website (e.g. google.com, Yahoo.com)

 Keyword: A keyword is a specific word or phrase that people type into search engines like

 Google when looking for information, products, or services. For example, if you’re searching for
"best running shoes", "best running shoes" is a keyword.

 Search Volume: refers to the number of times a specific keyword or phrase is searched for in a
search engine (like Google) within a particular time frame, usually monthly

 Search engine: is a software system designed to help you find information on the internet.

 SERP stands for Search Engine Results Page: It's the page that a search engine displays after you
enter a search query. The SERP shows a list of websites, pages, images, videos.

 Trend: A trend refers to a general movement or change in a particular direction over time. It can
be in various contexts like fashion, technology, business, or social behaviour. (Google Trends
will give which niche (topic) is on high trend over the time).

 Keyword difficulty (KD): refers to how hard it is to rank for a specific keyword on search engines
like Google. It measures the level of competition you'll face when trying to get your content to
appear in the top search results for that keyword.

 Search intent is the purpose or reason behind a user's search query. It helps search engines
understand what the user is looking for, so they can provide the most relevant results.

 User intent (also known as search intent) refers to the goal or purpose behind a user's search
query. It’s the reason why someone is conducting a search on a search engine like Google.

 Knowledge base intent: Queries seeking factual information refers to the user's intent to find
answers, solutions, or information (9TH Class results, Oxford admission )

 FMA stands for First Mover Advantage. This term refers to the competitive edge a company
gains by being the first to enter a specific market or industry, offering a product, service, or
innovation that no one else has introduced yet.
 Downloadable Intent refers to the intent of users who are looking to download content or files
from a website or platform. These users typically want to obtain specific files, such as software,
e-books, PDFs, templates, music, or images, often for offline use or to use the resource later.
 E-commerce-based intent refers to the type of user intent specifically associated with e-
commerce activities, where the user is looking to buy products or services online. Users with e-
commerce intent are often in the process of searching for a product to purchase, comparing
options, or researching a brand before making a purchase decision.

 Affiliate-based intent refers to the user’s intention to either promote products or services
through affiliate marketing programs or to purchase products through affiliate links that lead to
a commission-based transaction. It’s a key component of affiliate marketing, where individuals
(affiliates) earn commissions for driving sales or leads to merchants by referring customers via
unique tracking links.

 Service-based intent refers to the intent of users who are looking to either buy a service or
promote a service online. This type of intent typically involves consumers or businesses seeking
services, ranging from professional services like consulting, legal help, or marketing, to lifestyle
services like beauty treatments, cleaning, or fitness training.

 Local business intent refers to the search behaviour of users who are looking for products or
services offered by businesses within their local geographic area. This type of intent is common
when people search for solutions that are more immediate, like finding nearby restaurants,
shops, service providers, or any other local business that can fulfil their needs in a specific
location.

 Tool-based intent refers to the intent of users who are searching for specific tools or software
solutions to help them complete a task, solve a problem, or achieve a goal. This type of intent
typically involves users who are looking for tools, resources, or apps that can assist them in their

 Event-based intent refers to the search behaviour of users who are specifically looking for
events, activities, or happenings either locally or globally. This intent revolves around users who
are interested in attending, participating in, or learning about events such as conferences,

parties. People with event-based intent are usually focused on time-sensitive activities.

ensures that all data transferred between a user’s browser and a website is protected from
hackers and cyber threats.

How Search Engine Works

 Search engines like Google, Bing, and Yahoo help users find relevant information by
analysing billions of web pages. They follow a three-step process:

Crawling (Finding Webpages)

 Search engine bots (crawlers/spiders) scan the internet for new and updated pages.
 They follow links from one page to another to discover content.

Indexing (Storing & Organizing)

 Once a page is crawled, it is stored in a massive database called an index.


 The search engine analyses the content, keywords, images, and structure.
 If a page has duplicate content or errors, it may not get indexed

Ranking (Showing the Best Results)

 When a user searches, the search engine ranks pages based on relevance and quality.
