My Story and why you should care.
My name is Yash Vardhan Swami. I am 30 and last 4 years
have been the happiest years of my life and happiness
score has been going up Every year.
[Being happy is the biggest flex these days, right?]

Now, whenever I have to write section like this, I feel like


talking about all the wins I have had, Successful businesses,
followers we have, Celebrities we have worked with, money
I make, Degrees, personal life wins, awards, Thousands of
client transformations, Basically stuff you wouldn’t care
about.
[I will save that for later, so that you can skip it. xD]

So, I would rather talk about my story as


quickly as possible [2 minutes]
and how it can HELP YOU.

My Story and why you should care.

I was obese for first 18 years of my life.


Low confidence, zero confidence, bad lifestlye, anger issues,
Ego and what not.

This was my lifestyle and what my day looked like for as far as
I remember:

My life sucked [but I didn’t know that back then].

I always felt that people are judging me especially


The way I looked.
Avoided looking at myself in the mirror and skipped every
event there would Have to get photos clicked.

Monetarily, I never had any pressure. Dad’s crazy wealthy.
[So, it’s not the classical rags to riches story. lol]

So, the only worry was:


I need to work on myself.

I started transforming in 2012, made all the mistakes on the


planet, but I didn't give up [despite having no idea of what
I was doing and
Despite getting zero Results for the first few weeks]
And through trial and error, learning new things and doing
random things, I ended up losing 44+kgs in 8 months.

I was happier than I ever was.


I started enjoying getting pictures clicked.
Had the confidence to finally talk to girls. [I did not talk to a
single female for first 18 years of schooling]
I was okay with going out for shopping [I still like finishing
my shopping bouts in less than 10 minutes. xD]

During this time, Some people at the gym started asking me


about my ‘diet’ And started taking my help just like that.

Then a friend asked me for my diet.


I made one for him and forgot about that.

He met me after a few months and said:


‘Bro, you have changed my life’
He had lost 60+kgs and it was hard to recognise him.

That’s when I actually realised:
Wow, I have changed my own life also.

Felt even better.


Then I started pursuing law and became the ‘Go-to guy’ in
college when it came to fatloss and transformations.

In 2016, had a fight with my girlfriend, now wife and then a


fight with dad, Where both of them made me realise that
after my transformation, I got offended during the fight, but
that was a turning point.

That made me realise:


I had not done anything in my life after my transformation.

That made me plan and launch my first (of 3) ventures,


TrainedByYVS in 2017.

This was back when being an online coach,


Having an online business Or Instagram influencer stuff was
not a ‘thing’.

Now here’s the impact this has had on the lives of our clients
[and my life].
[You can skip it if you like and simply move to how to use
this book.]

P.S. We literally have a Book of client Transformations,


However, I have added a few at end of each section to get
you guys inspired. :)

I know you don’t care about my personal wins. No one does.

But, the reason I am sharing this is:


It was my fatloss journey that Enabled me to do this.

Old 122+kgs YVS felt he was a loser.


He could have never imagined that I would be be able to get there.
I was always smart, but I never had the courage to speak.

I never had the courage to be ‘out there’


or speak up or even get picrtures.

Fatloss journey has helped me build my dream life.


I have obviously worked hard but I wouldn’t have started anything
if I was still obese.

8-Step ‘Million Dollar’
Morning Routine
Morning Routine Principles:
A) Simple Morning Principle:
Every morning is a new start. If you start your day right, chances are the rest
of your day will be on track because it sets the tone for the day & winning
days, leads to winning weeks & few winning weeks & we start seeing success
in our goals.
Success is just the culmination of actions in the right direction, over time.
B) If you start your day doing something you do not enjoy doing,
It makes you feel like a ‘winner’ & rest of the day, we end up on a winning
streak, which leads to winning days, then winning weeks, & step by step we
reach our goals.

C) Everything compounds:
I started reading daily in 2019 & due to ADHD, I was never able to read more
than 2-3 pages. It doesn’t seem like a big deal, right?
But it has compounded so much in the last 5 years that, I was able to pursue a
Master.
5 minutes every day & you can win big every time
D) There’s nothing such as a perfect morning routine:
Copying anyone’s routine wouldn’t help you.
Instead, see why people do it & see what resonates with you.
E) Two Day Rule:
There are days when I miss my morning routine, but I ensure that I never miss
two days consecutively. I just follow 10% of the routine if I am too busy.
For example, if I am supposed to read in the morning, I simply read 10 lines or
just spend 5 minutes if I have other priorities. It ensures that I never fall off
the wagon
F) It’s a discipline game:
Most morning routines & habits are about building discipline & as we all know,
discipline is the key to winning big in life (& achieving anything) if actions are
aligned on a long enough time frame
G) Stack it up:
I like stacking things I enjoy a lot i.e. Coffee with sunlight exposure & morning
reading (which gets boring at times)
Since I enjoy coffee, that ensures that I don’t skip my reading session.

Framework to improve your

Ironical ‘Everyday Should be Mother’s Day’ Post.
I generally create lists of things I learnt, in relation to relationships,
But today I would just like to talk about a concept, which my girlfriend talked
about recently during one of our deep conversations.

She said:
‘It’s amusing how parents live their lives through their children’
As soon as she said that, I had a flashback of soo many events,
And realised this was soo right.
Talking about my wedding, she’s more excited about the location, experience, and venue than
I am.
Talking about my travels, she’s more interested in ensuring that ‘I don’t have Ice in my drinks’.
For Health. Lol

Mom’s more excited for my car, more than me


and even more than her Rolex (or whatever watch she would get)
Talking about her each travel, whenever she meets someone new,
‘She literally makes sure they follow me on IG’. Lol.

Now, I think about the other day, when we launched our Podcast,
She was more excited than I was.
She checked the views more times than I did.
The only success metric she doesn’t care about is money earned (but dad makes up for that
by being super interested in business numbers and success. Haha).

What’s the point of me jotting this down? When in the future, I disagree with mom, about
anything, Before saying

‘MOM this is how it should be’,


I would simply ask myself: ‘Can it be mom’s way?’

I have a simple mission now:


‘My mom lives her life to the fullest, even if it’s through me’.
For most of us, there’s No One more devoted to you, than your parents.

So, if you disagree with them, just ask yourselves:


‘Can this make them happy, for one bit?’

‘Give them a moment, they couldn’t have’


Act accordingly.

Ensure, every day is Mother’s Day.

I just wish, I grow up embodying the principles and this level of
ownership, responsibility.
The Goal is to be a responsible man, not a 'Man-Child' without
ownership.

I strongly believe I have been lucky in the upbringing department
when it comes to both of my parents.
Super lucky to have a mentor like my dad.

I understand it’s not the case with everyone and it’s easy for me to
say this:

They might be imperfect, but let’s try to focus on what they have
done right,
Instead of what they might have done wrong.

How to create your nutrition plan and for others:
Quick Notes: * Always choose consistency and adherence over
perfect numbers when it comes to calories and macros.
* No need to have ‘exact’ same calories everyday.
* Start with measuring your food for atleast a week or two and
then you can guesstimate.
* You won’t be able to stick to exact numbers, that’s okay.
* Ideally, micronutrient advices should be much deeper than this
for health and fixing deficiencies.
* Don’t forget the stuff you read on STEP 7. All pillars of
transformation are equally important.
* Drink a lot of water. :)
Also, if you use the bw X 22-24 equation, dont forget to account
for calories burnt if you are exercising etc.

If you have the question: Why would someone take your service
now? This is not even 1% of coaching we do.
This is a small part.
Actual coaching is much more than just a nutrition plan. :)
It’s a ‘system’.

Coaching Principles I use while coaching:

1. Coaching through empowerment:


Real empowerment comes from believing in self (which comes from
seeing results).
So, our focus number 1 is to get ‘tangible’ results for our clients
asap.
Nothing is better than seeing the scale move. So, we let results do
the talking.
Our goal number 1 goal is to move our clients from mode of: Last
Diet Method works to Last Diet Method Works for Me.
(and if it gets stuck or things get slow), we remind our clients of
how far we have come

2. Coaching through Knowledge:


It’s hard to trust a human, but it’s very hard to not trust science.
So, whenever our clients are facing ‘slow results’, we explain stuff
with science, why and how it correlates to the current situation.
When we explain the logics (like this framework and related
science), that multiplies trust in process and understanding

3. Coaching with truth:


Now, yes empathy is important, but not at the cost of well timed
truth.
Our goal is to point the client in the right direction and help them
improve.
So, at times being stern is also required as opposed to being just a
‘cheer leader’ even if someone is moving in the wrong direction.
Yes, being stern might be harsh for us (And the client), but doing
the right thing is what matters.

5. Allround Approach: Working on all areas of lifestyle: Nutrient
Deficiencies, Full Lifestyle, Knowledge, Nutrition, High level of
Accountability, Hydration, Exercise and Activity along with sleep and
stress management via meditation.

6. Long Term Approach:


Showing our teammates that even if things might be slow right now,
they will be permanent.
As coaches we also ensure that we do not get impatient at our end
and make unnecessary changes to the plan (just to make the client
temporarily happy but making the plan unsustainable). This is a game
changer and requires high level of trust in self and coaching.

How often should you track your weight?
The answer Depends.

Ideally as a coach, I like seeing the scale atleast 3-6


times/week to understand an individual’s fluctuations.
Imagine, you followed the plan to the T, your weight went
down, but you tracked your weight on that one day When
weight was spiked up due to water retention.

That would be a ‘false positive’.

So, I like tracking it multiple times a week.


But, in a few cases where the client feels like this is too much
tracking, we reduce the number of time we are tracking,
Because we need to respect this.

We have also coached clients who did not track their weight
at all, because that gave them anxiety.
It’s not optimal but again,
Weightloss is mediated by caloric deficit and lifestyle.
Tracking weight is just a measure of tracking.
Also, weight tracking is just one of the facets of progress and
the main facet being how we look, pictures And
measurements and most importantly: how we feel.

We have also seen transformations [rare] where weightloss


was negligible,
But the transformation was shock the world.
So, there’s a lot of individuality involved.

For some, progress is slower and it’s a fact:
In my experience of working with 5000+ people, I have seen
a few cases where it’s genuinely slower (and I know it’s
frustrating), but shifting the focus to thinking that even if it’s
slow right now, it’s fine because ‘this is the last time we are
dieting’ and the goal for most of us should be to never diet
again.

Some cases include:


Women with PCOD/PCOS and women/men dealing with
Hypothyroidism, Insulin Resistance, Petite structure*, Use of
Certain Medication* in the past, Injuries, and Super high
levels of stress.
Optimizing all health markers does offset the speed in the
longer run*.

Notes on Ending Dieting Phases the Right Way:
1.Think about going through these processes with a
coach you would trust. You would learn a LOT and
would be able to understand your clients ‘better’ since
you have gone through the process yourselves. If you
can understand your teammates better, you can coach
them better i.e. get them great results.
2. Practicality and application over everything. Apply
this!
3. A lot of times, we just need to use common sense
and remember there’s not just ‘One’ fixed way to
reach a goal.
4. Keep on Improving your Methods and Learning
more and more.
5. Remember, it’s an ART, so don’t be scared to
experiment on yourselves and your teammates (still
use Common Sense and science).

Notes on Mental Health, Mood Issues & Anxiety

-The Three Pillars:


Your happiness is literally about the three pillars of your
life:
Health, Wealth and Relationships and harmony amongst
all 3 of them.
The goal should be striking a balance among all 3, over
time but keep in mind, if multiple pillars are messed up,
always start with Health.
Because, if health is ruined, you cannot enjoy the other
two.

- The Link: Yes, It’s not just about physical health,


But if your physical health is not sorted,
You 100% have a chance that your mood and how you
feel, would be compromised.
On the other spectrum, if your headspace is not good,
your physical health would start getting affected,
Starting with hormone health.

- The Spiral:
If you are not ‘feeling good’, you would not want to
indulge in healthy lifestyle habits (and would be
automatically attracted towards ‘vices’ or past patterns.),
leading you in a spiral and vicious circle of feeling worse.
Awareness can improve this spiral and ensure we don’t
fall in the vicious circle when one bad thing happens.

- Positivity, Giving more than you take and Karma:
Giving more and focusing on karma has improved by
mental health by a mile to say the very least.
The days, I am feeling bad, I literally start giving more
and automatically feel better.
Being Grateful and hacking positivity has also helped
me control our natural ‘negative bias’ towards
everything in life.
‘If you want to see what’s inside your head, Open your
eyes.’, because your perception controls your life

- The Idea of God:


Future is uncertain.
Bad things happen to us all the time.
One of the biggest things I have learnt is having faith
in the higher power.
The day, I found god, my mental health improved by a
mile, my trust in process improved by a mile and
literally removed anxiety in relation to ‘unknown
future events’.
Believe in him and keep in mind, he always has a plan.
You can call him universe, religion or god.
I call him Shiva. :)

FRAMEWORK TO Fix Your Stress:
Some notes on the framework:
1. If your goal is to transform, then I would highly
recommend calculating calories or measuring food to
build awareness.
2. This protocol works best for me.
The ‘Perfect Protocol’ would be different for everyone,
based off preferences, lifestyle
and priorities.
3. There’s nothing wrong with calculating calories long
term, I did that for 7+ years,
but if you don't enjoy it or find it sustainable,
use this as reference.
4. Physique is not a top priority for me at the moment,
health is.
If it is, I would caculculate calories and measure my food
on most days.

I still believe: What gets tracked, gets improved, but we
should know when to stop. :)

* What we want, Why we want it, What we don’t want and taking
actions in the direction without: Lying to self, and making
excuses while taking ownership of our goals and lives.
* It’s okay to make mistakes, but stupid humans blame it on
others and keep on repeating them.
* It’s okay to have vices, but it’s important to control them.

Fatloss Related Surgeries.
Why I wouldn’t suggest it to most unless it’s NECESSARY
(0.001% of population imo).
Also, If you feel that you ‘d fix your nutrition after the
surgery: It’s most probably a lie you are telling to yourselves
(because once you start looking leaner, weight lesser after
the surgery, where will the motivation come from? It
probably won’t).
Leading to REGAIN and messed up health markers.
Talking about bariatric surgeries and reduction in appetite
and why it’s a paradox. Most of us, who have fat to lose
haven’t gained fat because our appetite is abnormally high.
It’s because: Our Activity is Low.
And Our Food Quality Choices (and awareness is low) Most
of us gain the fat because:
We eat too much of ‘Hyperpalatable and High Calorie Food’.
These foods are mostly low in fibre, micronutrients and
satiety
This leads to make us hungrier, despite having the calories.
So, most of us deal with a food volume issue.
While Losing Fat The Right Way, The goal is to increase
Food Volume and Nutrients while reducing the calories we
consume (Acaloric deficit).
So, even if a surgery reduces are appetite (and nutrient
absorption which might be delirious for health and might
make us even lazier and make us burn more calories), we still
can eat more calories than we need leading to Weight
Regain.

Adding up to (the fat cell stretch) in the liposuction section
(slide 10)
There’s a Immune response to Fatcells getting stretched
which leads to
Macrophage infiltration, increase in Cytokines and increase in
CRP.

Also, A lot of us believe that there’s an issue with our
genetics, hormones or metabolism (check out our older posts
on that)
Short Answer: No, it’s not (get your bloodwork and confirm) .
Feelings are not facts.
A lot of times, Feelings are confirmation to our biases.

All I mean to say here is: Take an Informed Decision.
