Hi everyone we are group 10, today we are going to discuss the


Apple's Low-Carbon Transition:Efforts and Challenges Behind Apple's Sustainability.

The electronics industry has a significant carbon footprint., faces substantial sustainability
challenges due to complex global supply chains, The entire process, from raw material extraction
to electronics manufacturing , requires a huge amount of energy.. According to a report released
by greenpeace, the supply chain will generate 86 million tons of CO2 by 2030.

Smartphone products are updated rapidly the high frequency of consumers changing their
phones will increase the e waste to 82 million tons by 2030. . However, only 22% of it was
officially collected and recycled. The remaining 78% ended up in landfills,leaking toxic substances
to the land.., the raw materials in mobile phone batteries cause pollution threatening human
health . These highlight the importance of the electronics industry's sustainable transformation
.

It’s well known that Apple is one of the most valuable technology companies worldwide. In 2024,
the iPhone's shipment reached approximately 225.9 million units. It has a wide range of product
and continuous product innovation. In 2024 alone, it launched around 20 new products

We choose apple as a case not only because of this but also it it has made remarkable
progress in reducing its environmental impact. Since 2015, Apple has cut its
greenhouse gas emissions by over 55%, . Apple also invests in clean energy
projects worldwide and supports natural carbon removal initiatives,
demonstrating leadership in corporate sustainability. This comprehensive
approach makes Apple a powerful model for sustainable business practices.

The next student will further discuss the impact of Apple's business on the climate.
