Solve the following word problems. Make sure to show all your work!

1. Multiplication Problems

(a) There are 24 students in each class. If there are 5 classes in the school, how many
students are there in total?
(b) A farmer has 12 rows of apple trees. Each row has 15 trees. How many apple
trees are there in total?
(c) A box contains 8 packs of crayons. Each pack has 10 crayons. How many crayons
are there in 7 boxes?
(d) Sarah bakes 9 cookies in one batch. If she bakes 4 batches in one day, how many
cookies does she bake in total?
(e) Each book costs 18 dollars. If you buy 3 books, how much money will you spend?

2. Division Problems

(a) A baker made 72 cupcakes. If she wants to divide them equally into boxes of 8,
how many boxes will she need?
(b) There are 48 pencils. If 6 students each get an equal number of pencils, how many
pencils will each student get?
(c) A group of 35 students is divided into 7 equal teams for a game. How many
students are in each team?
(d) Maria has 64 candies and wants to share them equally among 4 friends. How
many candies will each friend get?
(e) A family drove 600 miles in 4 days. If they drove the same number of miles each
day, how many miles did they drive per day?

3. Mixed Problems

(a) There are 6 boxes, and each box contains 20 pencils. If you need to distribute
these pencils equally among 5 students, how many pencils will each student get?

(b) A farmer harvested 96 apples. He packed them into 4 baskets equally. If each
basket has the same number of apples, how many apples are in each basket? If
each apple sells for 3 dollars, how much money will he make from selling all the
apples?
