Subject: Celebration of Constitution Day – reg.

Dear Principal

26th November is celebrated as Constitution Day (Samvidhan Divas), every year since 2015,
to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India and to honour and acknowledge
the contribution of the drafting committee of the Constituent Assembly under the
chairmanship of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. It is also an occasion to reaffirm the constitutional ideals
and principles. India would be celebrating the 75th year of adoption of the Constitution on
26.11.2024 and coming into effect of the Constitution on 26.01.2025.

In view of above, the schools are requested to arrange a special Morning Assembly on
26.11.2024 to make students aware of the importance of the Constitution.

A module on Constitution Day will be uploaded on CBSE website and DIKSHA platform
which may be utilized as background material for activities to celebrate Constitution Day on
26.11.2024 and thereafter.

Further, it has been decided that the 75th year of Indian Constitution would be celebrated for
a period of one year. During this period, the schools are suggested to organize the following
activities on monthly basis, as feasible:

1. Talks/ discussions/ seminars by inviting eminent personalities


2. Painting/ poster making/ craft competitions
3. Declamation contests on the significance of the Constitution.
4. Community awareness activities like street plays, prabhat pheries etc.
5. Creative ways of engaging with students like selfie points; formation of human
chains; rap songs etc.

The above proposed activities are indicative in nature. The schools are requested to do the
needful in this regard.
