“Technology does more harm than good”

Hey, have you ever noticed how we all are glued to our phones,
not paying attention to what’s happening around us? Our
moms are always yelling at us, but honestly, we are too much
engrossed in our phones that most of the time we ignore what
she’s saying, even though she is right. These are some of our
daily life experiences of how technology has made us behave.
Honestly, I believe technology is doing more harm than good,
even though we all know that world without technology is
nothing. Nowadays technology is a need rather than want, for
every single human being. There are a lot of examples of
technology which we are using in our daily life some of them
are: washing machine for washing clothes, vacuum cleaners for
cleaning house, attending online lectures through internet and
so on.
Coming back to where I was, I believe technology is doing more
harm than good, here are some of the reasons:
1. Addiction: Addiction is a thing that people of our
generation can relate this easily. We all know that most of
our time is spent using gadgets like laptops, videogames,
and mobile phones etc. This has led us to less face to face
communications, and it has become a barrier for our
physical health as there are less chances of playing
outdoor games.
2. Technology helps creates social isolation: the book,
Fahrenheit 451 written by Ray Bradbury discusses that
how technology would further in future would dominate
people everyday life. He was correct that people won’t be
able to live without their technological tools like laptops
tablets phones etc. In the fantasy text, the author says
how the girl Mildred gets attached to technology and
completely loses her connection with Montag. Here the
fantasy text shows that how social media makes a person
isolated and lost all of their connections with their closed
ones.

3. Staying unfocused: How often do you check your phone
while you are studying? Probably after every 15 minutes.
This is how social media has made us gone crazy, one
notification appears and all of our focus is shifted from
studying to checking phone repeatedly. Due to this it takes
a lot of time to complete our task or assignment.
