FIST, IIT Patna
Applications are invited from motivated and young energetic aspiring students who are in the 2 nd/3rd
Year of their Engineering Degree (UG) with an excellent academic record for internship opportunities at
FIST- TBI, IIT PATNA.

Foundation for Innovators in Science and Technology (FIST) at IIT Patna is developed under the NIDHI-
TBI initiative of the Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Science & Technology,
Government of India. It is registered as a section 8 company under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.

It administers a Technology Business Incubator (TBI) that provides ‘Start to scale’ support for
technology-based entrepreneurship and facilitates the conversion of research ideas into entrepreneurial
ventures. It focuses on the incubation of ideas in the areas, including, but not limited to, Agriculture,
Manufacturing, Energy, Water Harvesting, AI/IoT/ML/DL/Deep Tech, Health-Tech, Electrical
Vehicle (EV) Technology, Drone Technology, Tech. for Environment/Climate, Robotics and
Automation, Green Energy, and other Innovative Products/Services.

How will your ideas help?

Implementing solutions to address a range of interconnected issues, benefits the country in numerous
ways. These solutions would have a positive impact on widespread of societal pressing challenges.

Some priority problem statements:

AI/IoT/ML/DL/Computer Vision for niche applications, Deep Tech Rapid Agri-Food Products Quality
Assessment, Development of a testing kit for ascertaining the reliability of organic agriculture produce, Agri-
Drone, Development of smart mechanism to make available uneaten/surplus food to hungry people, Low-cost
smart device for AQ (Air Quality), Drinking Water (monitoring of water quality that would help improve
awareness of water status and efficient access to safe drinking water), or technology development initiatives
for other challenging issues/problems aligned with national priorities.

FIST, IIIT Patna will offer Approx. 2-3 months Internship to a limited number of students from
engineering streams. The interns are expected to work closely with FIST-TBI startup teams and upon
successful completion, an internship certificate will be provided by FIST, IIT Patna.

Period of the Internship: Approx. 2-3 month

Venue/Location: FIST, IIT Patna office. 5TH FLOOR, BLOCK-9, INDIAN INSTITUTE OF
TECHNOLOGY PATNA, BIHTA, PATNA, and BIHAR, INDIA, 801106.

Works to be Performed:
 Assisting the Start-up in their Product Development & R&D works
 Assisting in product design, 3D modeling, and CAD drawings using tools like
SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
 3D printing, 3D Scanner, CNC machines, Abrasive Waterjet Cutting machine, etc.
 Supporting prototyping, fabrication, and testing of mechanical components.
 Working with microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi) for sensor-based
applications.
 Supporting IoT device integration, signal processing, and hardware troubleshooting.
 Developing and debugging software modules, web platforms, or mobile apps and
websites.
 Writing clean and efficient code in Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript.
 Supporting database design, APIs, and backend logic.
 Working on AI/ML, data science, or cybersecurity projects (based on domain).
 Supporting the development of sustainable or bio-based product prototypes.
 Contributing to green building concepts, water management, or rural infrastructure
planning.
 Any Work assigned by FIST TBI

In case of large number of applications, shortlisting will be done by FIST, IIT Patna based on academic
performance and skills set. The final selection will be made after an interview on online platform with
shortlisted candidates. FIST, IIT Patna will provide an internship certificate on successful completion of
the activity. Decision of FIST, IIT Patna on all matters of internship will be final.
If there is any change in the start/end dates of interview/internship, it shall be intimated to the shortlisted
candidates via email or refer to FIST, IIT Patna website (www.fistiitp.ac.in).

Note: TA/DA and hostel accommodation will not be provided by FIST IIT, Patna.
