Independence Day:

 The institution celebrates the Independence Day every year to re-experience the spirit
of patriotism and to honor the glorious past of our country. The students present
various cultural activities related to patriots. This event highlights the spirit of
patriotism of new generation and creates responsibility towards the society and
country. Independence Day is observed throughout India with flag-hoisting ceremonies,
parades and cultural events. It is a national holiday.

Teachers’ Day:
 This day is celebrated in commemoration of the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli
Radhakrishna on 5th September. UCET conducts competitions at the department level
and the best teacher in the college selected basing on specified parameters being
honored by students.
 He was also a great scholar, an ideal teacher, and a Bharat Ratna recipient. He was born
on 5th September 1888. It was after becoming the President of India, some of his
friends and students approached Dr. Radhakrishnan to celebrate his birthday. To this,
he replied that instead of celebrating his birthday on this particular date

Engineers’ Day:
 This day is celebrated in commemoration of the birthday of Dr. Mokshagundam
Visheshwaraiah on 15th September. He was a renowned civil engineer. On this day
Technical competitions are conducted by UCET at the department level.
 Renowned guests are invited to motivate the students and to excel as engineers by
taking inspiration in the ways of the legendary personality. Speakers of the day address
invaluable knowledge in the field of emerging technologies and advancements to the
students.

Gandhi Jayanti:

 UCET celebrates Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October on every year to commemorate the
Birth of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. He was the greatest motivator and independence
campaigner of his times. His unique ability to connect with the poor made him a mass
leader of India, also earning him the sobriquet “Father of the Nation”. His policy of
peaceful, non violent protests was something new to the world and also acknowledged by
the many nations. UCET remembers his teachings and principles.
 The UN General Assembly announced on 15 June 2007 that it adopted a resolution which
declared that 2 October will be celebrated as the International Day of Non-Violence as he
was a non-violent freedom fighter. He is also known as the "Father of The Nation" and
this title was given to him by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose for his relentless struggles for
independence.

World Space Week

October 4, the first day of the World Space Week, and October 10, the concluding day,
commemorate two important events. On October 4, 1957, the first human-made Earth satellite,
Sputnik 1, was launched, opening the way for space exploration. On October 10, 1967, the
Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Peaceful Uses of
Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies, was signed.

The 2021 theme of World Space Week is "Women in Space". The theme aims to increase
awareness on the issue of gender diversity in the space sector, and to identify hindrances faced
by women aspiring to enter space-related careers, and to help them overcome these challenges.
About 20-22 per cent of the entire space industry workforce consists of women, and the theme
wishes to address the different problems faced by women from different backgrounds.

Education Day:
 Education Day (November 11th) The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE)
student chapter of UCET celebrates National education Day on 11 th November to
commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad the first education
minister of Independent India.

 Every year on November 11, National Education Day is observed to solemnize the birth
anniversary of India’s first Education Minister, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad. The entire
nation honors the contributions made by Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on this day, which
is also known as Rashtriya Shiksha Diwas.
 The National Education Day in India was officially announced by the Ministry of
Human Resource Development in 2008 to celebrate the birthday of our honorable First
Education Minister.
Youth Day:

National Youth Day is celebrated to commemorate Swami Vivekananda's birthday. He was born
on 12th January 1863 in Kolkata. He was a philosopher, activist, social reformer, and thinker.
Being a follower of Ramakrishna, he founded the Ramakrishna Mission in 1897. This is a
religious Hindu organization that imparts spiritual teaching to anyone interested.

The objective of celebrating National Youth Day is to disseminate the ideas and philosophy of
Swami Vivekananda, about how he lived, preached, and the way he worked. Various events are
held at schools, universities, etc. all over the country. Here are the details about the history of
National Youth Day:

Republic Day:
 The institute celebrates Republic day on 26th January every year. It is a remarkable
day in the history of India as the day when finally the constitution of India came into
effect on January 26th, 1950.

Women's Day:

International Women’s Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the historical, cultural, and
political achievements of women. The day also observed in support of taking action against
gender inequality around the world. We all know the world couldn’t run without women (we
mean, just listen to Beyoncé). This is the day to appreciate their efforts! Organizations large and
small come together to show women just how valuable they are in today’s society. Also make
sure to help women around you find resources on scholarships available for women from around
the world to help them spread their wings and fly higher.
