COMPARISON

COMPARATIVE (SO SÁNH HƠN)


- Tính từ ngắn (tính từ có 1 âm tiết) thêm đuôi -er.
VD: dark → darker, bright → brighter, fast → faster

ADJ + -er + than

- Tính từ dài (tính từ có 2 tiết trở lên) thêm more/ less phía trước và không thêm
đuôi -er.
VD: beautiful → more beautiful, exciting → more exciting
more + ADJ + than

SUPERLATIVE (SO SÁNH NHẤT)


- Tính từ ngắn (tính từ có 1 âm tiết) thêm “the” phía trước và đuôi -est.
VD: dark → darkest, bright → brightest, fast → fastest

the + ADJ + -est


- Tính từ dài (tính từ có 2 tiết trở lên) thêm the mose/ the leasr phía trước và
không thêm đuôi -est.
VD: beautiful → the most beautiful, exciting → the most exciting
the + most + ADJ
*LƯU Ý:
-y, -ow, -er, -le
- Các tính từ dù ngắn hay dài kết thúc bằng “y” → đổi “y” thành “i” rồi thêm -
er/ -est
VD: happy → happier/ the happiest, sunny → sunnier/ the sunniest
- Các tính từ kết thúc bằng “e” → chỉ cần thêm “r”/ “st”
VD: large → larger/ the largest
- Các tính từ kết thúc với “một nguyên âm kẹp giữa hai phụ âm” → double phụ
âm cuôi rồi thêm -er/ -est
VD: big → bigger/ the biggest, hot → hotter/ the hottest
