SPECIFICATION

4.0 SPARES
4.1 Recommended spares
4.1.1 The supply of spare parts as necessary and recommended by the respective vendor for
two (2) years of reliable, trouble-free operation and maintenance of the items supplied
under this specification.
4.1.2 List of such spares shall be supplied along with unit price.
4.1.3 Vendor shall also assume the responsibility of supplying all required spare parts that the
plant may need for Instrument/Equipment supplied under this specification for ten (10)
years from the date of contract.
4.2 Start-up and commissioning spares
4.2.1 Spares, which may be required during tests, trial and commissioning, shall be arranged
separately. The vendor shall replace spares that will be used for this purpose within
reasonable period of time.
4.2.2 The cost of such spares shall be quoted separately. This may be ordered in part or on the
whole.
4.3 General Requirements of spares
4.3.3 All spares required for operation/maintenance by the Owner shall be delivered in unused
new condition.
4.3.4 Spares shall be interchangeable with the parts for which they are intended for replacement.
4.3.5 Vendor shall indicate the service expectancy period for equipment / parts under normal
operating conditions after which replacement will be necessary.
4.3.6 Spares shall be properly packed for long storage under the prevailing site condition and
shall be clearly labelled for easy identification without uncrating. Any spare item having
limited self life shall be clearly labelled for the expiry date beyond which it cannot be used.
4.3.7 Vendor shall inform the Owner, after having carried out the supply, if a component or part
of equipment will not be produced regularly any longer, specifying the new component or
the material type, which can be utilised in substitution. The Vendor’s commitment in that
case will be extended for a period of time, which will not be lower than 10 years. Any spp
Spare parts for the system used during the Warranty Period shall be replenished at the
Vendor’s expense.
4.3.8 The Vendor shall provide ordering information to order consumable and spare parts as
required. The information required are:

12.6 Test
12.6.1 Supplier shall notify Purchaser the date and inspection for the performance of the tests
giving sufficient notice to enable Purchaser or his authorized representative to be present
during testing. The test procedures shall be prepared by Supplier and approved by
Purchaser well in advance. The Analyzers proposed for testing shall be tested against
acceptable standards and test records shall be made available to Purchaser or his
authorized representative on request. The tests specified herein are in addition to, and
shall in no way replace, the routine checkouts normally made by Supplier on such
Analyzers.
12.6.2 After the conclusion of tests, the products shall comply with all the provisions of this
specification.
14.0 DOCUMENTATION
14.1 Engineering documents, drawings, inscriptions on equipment and manuals shall be in
English.
14.2 The Vendor will produce a drawing for each type of Chemical analyser system to be
submitted to owner for approval, indicating upon each the following :
Overall dimensional drawing of Chemical analyser and its accessories
Data sheets
Mounting details
Pressure/Temperature (rating)
Dimensional tolerances
Manufacturer's drawing number
14.3 All drawing and documents shall be submitted by the vendor in hard as well as in soft
copies.
14.4 Operating & Maintenance Instruction Manuals shall contain all information and description
of equipment necessary to enable the Owner to operate and maintain properly the whole of
the Works. Operating & Maintenance Instruction Manuals shall cover at least the following
information:
14.4.1 Operating Instructions
These shall be logical, step-by-step instruction giving all relevant details, for example:
i) Automatic and manual operation under normal running conditions, with relevant
adjustments for safe and efficient operation. Also, all necessary annunciations,
observations and safety precautions.
ii) Normal shutdown procedures for the various starting condition with relevant safety
precautions.
iii) Commissioning procedure to be implemented following out-of-service periods for major
maintenance.
14.4.2 Maintenance Instructions
These will provide information in the simplest and most logical form for the purpose of:
i) Preventive maintenance, including frequency of inspection.
ii) Carrying out overhauls.
iii) Locating and rectifying faults
iv) Ordering for replacement of parts.
v) Setting-up, testing and adjusting system and plant items.
14.5 Documents to be submitted with the technical bid
