AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF BARANGAY


ADMINISTRATOR, DEFINING ITS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AND
PROVIDING FUNDS THEREFORE

WHEREAS, Chapter 5, Section 396 of the Local Government Code provides that the
Sangguniang Barangay create such other positions or offices as may be deemed necessary to
carry out the purposes of the barangay government in accordance with the needs of public
service, subject6 to the budgetary limitations and personnel services.

WHEREAS, the BARANGAY ADMINISTRATOR play an important role the development


and progress of the barangay. It is one of the implementing mechanisms of the Barangay;

WHEREAS, the BARANGAY ADMINISTRATOR will serve a Multi-function role as


maybe necessary to carry out the purposes of the barangay government in accordance with
the needs of public service of Barangay Union, Gamu, Isabela;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT resolved AS IT IS HEREBY resolved by the Sangguniang


Barangay of Barangay Union, Gamu, Province of Isabela, Philippines.

Section 1. TITLE: This Ordinance shall be known as the “An ordinance creating the
position of Barangay Administrator, defining its duties and responsibilities and
providing funds therefore.”

Section 2. CREATION. There shall be created an Office of the Barangay Administrator for
Barangay Union, Gamu, Isabela to be headed by a barangay administrator who shall serve in
a co-terminous capacity with the appointing authority
Section 3. FUNCTIONS. The barangay administrator shall perform the following duties
and responsibilities:
1. Develop plans and strategies and upon approval thereof by the punong barangay,
implement the same particularly those which have to do with the management and
administration-related programs and projects which the punong barangay is
empowered to implement;
2. Assist in the coordination of the work of all officials and employees of the barangay
and for this purpose, may convene the chiefs of offices and other officials of the
barangay;
3. Conduct a continuing organizational development of the barangay with the end in
view of instituting effective administrative reforms;
4. Be in the frontline of the delivery of administrative support services;
5. Advise the punong barangay on all other matters relative to the management and
administration of the barangay;
6. Exercise such other powers an perform such other duties and functions as may be
delegated by the punong barangay.
Section 4. COMPENSATION. The barangay administrator shall be given a compensation
amounting to Five Thousand Five Hundred pesos (Php 5,500.00) chargeable against the PS
allocation in the annual budget.

Section 5: EFFECTIVITY
This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon approval.
