We offer beginner, intermediate and advanced courses as well as two-weeks
Master Degree course and weekends of discovery,
Program 2020
The course dates are grouped by two consecutive weeks to allow students to
choose a single week of courses or extend it by a second week, depending on
their needs.
The basic, intermediate and advanced courses are 5 consecutive days, 8 hours
each day for a total of 40 hours
The master classes are always 2 consecutive weeks totalling 80 hours.
Initiation weekends are also planned for people who want to discover the
profession. Their duration is 16 hours.
Each course is limited to two or three student’s maximum By doing this, it allows
the instructor to dedicate more personal time to each student.
The course program will be "à la carte", according to requests. The topics covered
will be:
• Basic, the first steps to the hand engraving techniques (beginner level).
• Letters and monograms (intermediate to advanced level)
• Guns and knives engraving: traditional scrolls, guimpes and rosaces
(intermediate to advanced level)
• Ornamental relief engraving (advanced level)
• The inlay of precious metals (advanced level)
• Sculpting (bas-relief) and inlay (master-class)

Cost of training
• Initiation weekends (16 hours): 400 € (VAT included)
• Basic techniques ( 40 hours): 1000 € (incl. VAT)
• Intermediate and advanced levels ( 40 hours): 1700 € (VAT included)
• Master classes (80 hours): 3000 € (VAT included)
NB: lunch is not included in the prices, it is possible to order sandwiches, pizzas...
Possibility to buy equipment and tools at the workshop.
You can deduct the cost of the training, the VAT and the stay as a business expenses.

Prerequisites :
Weekends and Basic courses:
• No engraving training is required. The ability for artistic drawing is
recommended.
Intermediate courses:
• Completed either our Basic course or the equivalent of the Basic Course at
another teaching facility.
Advanced courses:
• Having successfully completing the previous courses, photographs of your
completed projects must be submitted as part of the selection process for the
Advanced Course.
Master-classes:
• Having successfully completing the previous courses, photographs of your
completed projects must be submitted as part of the selection process for the
Master Engraving Classes

Registration:
• Registration and payment, must be received at least 30 days prior to the
beginning of a course.
• A 30 days notice must be given in the event you need to cancel your course.
• There will be a € 50 charge associated with the cancellation. This will be
deducted from the refund.
In practice :
The students who arrive by train will be taken in charge at the their arrival at the
station of Bomal-sur-Ourthe and driven to their hotel. In the same way, they will be
taken to their courses in the morning and back to their hotel in the evening, after
the courses.

Geographical location :
The Engraving Studio is located at 6941 Tohogne, rue des Amordins 50, not far
from Durbuy, a small town of the Walloon region, located in the Province of
Luxembourg, in the south of Belgium, one hour and a half from Brussels by car.
Welcome in the smallest City in the world, thus named by the inhabitants of this
historical City, status obtained in 1331 in spite of its low number of population (the
