A cat is a domestic animal. It eats meat and milk. A cat has paws that have claws in them. These claws
are used when hunting. It grabs small animals like rats and cockroaches with these claws. It also uses
these claws to attack anything that wants to cause harm to it. Cats also use these claws to climb trees.
Cats also have a sharp eyesight. They have two eyes which help them locate prey from a far. Did you
know that cats’ eyesight varies based on the time of the day? During night time their vision is very sharp
unlike daytime.
They also have fur which keeps them warm. Cats clean their fur by use of their tongues. This is because
they hate water. The fur of a cat has various colours; some are white, others brown and others black. The
colours on the fur make the cats more appealing and beautiful.

Mzee Kamau alikuwa na ng’ombe na mbwa mmoja. Aliamka alfajiri na mapema kuenda kukata nyasi
akamwekea ng’ombe pahali pake pa kawaida pa malisho karibu na hori ya maji. Baadaye akachukua jembe
akaenda zake shambani kulima. Huku nyuma, akatoka mbwa kaenda akazilalia zile nyasi. Akalala fofofo juu
ya nyasi. Ng’ombe alitoka zizini kwenda kula nyasi kama kawaida yake. Alipofika penye nyasi akamkuta
mbwa amezilalia zile nyasi.
Ng’ombe aliposongea karibu, mbwa akamrukia na kumwuma pua. Ng’ombe akashtuka na kurudi
nyuma. Mbwa akarudi tena kwenye nyasi akazilalia bila wasiwasi. Ng’ombe akasongea tena huku pua yake
ikiuma na kutoka damu. Mbwa alibweka kwa ukali zaidi. Ng’ombe akabaki kumwangalia tu huku akijiuliza
maswali moyoni. “Huyu mbwa hali nyasi, anazilalia kunizuia mimi kuzila! Hajui kuwa hiki ndicho chakula
changu?” Mwenye ng’ombe, Mzee Kamau aliporudi, alimkuta ng’ombe ameumia pua naye mbwa amelalia
nyasi. Alishangaa!
