GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 INTRODUCTION
‘The KFC.200 Flight Control System is available in two basic system configura-
Hons. | Fach configuration contains ali the necessary components for the autg>

Allows the pilot to engage the yaw axis independent of the autopilot is avail-
able too. These systems can be described as follows:
1. KEC 200 Flight Control System with single-cue (KI 256) Flight Director In-
dicator.
2, KFC 200 Flight Control Systen without the Flight Director Mode. The system
uses the KG'258 Attitude Horizon Indicator.
‘A more comprehensive description is given on the Product Ordering Sheets just
inside the front cover of this manual.
WARKING
READ THE INSTALLATION MANUAL BEFORE BEGINNING THE INSTALLATION OF THE SYSTEM.
‘The numbers on the photographs indicate the item numbers on the appropriate
parts lists, ‘These same numbers are also called out in the corresponding sec-
Pion of text.
Section II contains the detailed installation instructions for the components
of the KFC 200 System, while Section III contains Ground Checks and Flight Ad~
Justments and Section IV the Installation Kit Parts List. Section V contains
the generalized installation drawings and STC documents.

Use the existing plumbing and hardvare to connect the pneumatic gauge lines
to the proper fittings. Figure S-3 is used to pluab the gyro tovthe airplane's
existing vacuun or pressure systen.
B. A proper air filtration system is required for the KI 256 and KG 258. Most
airplanes being manufactured are equipped with a central filtering system
of 0.3 microns capacity. If the airplane is not so equipped, the installing
agency must puta filter in to guarantee proper operation of the KI 256 and

Clean the metal area where the seal fitting will seat. Clean the wires and
Seal fittings with Mozel Solvent #18
Pass the wire bundle through the bulkhead cutout and secure, leaving approxi-
mately two inches of slack
Bundle ties must not be placed within six inches of the seal assembly to fa-
cilitate penetration of sealant around individual wires.
Place the seal halves around the wire bundle on the pressure side and position
in bulkhead cutout,
Wrap several turns of masking tape around the seal assembly ends and the
wire bundle to center the bundle and retain the sealant when applied.
Secure the seal assembly to the bulkhead with the required fasteners.
Puncture the tape over the injection hole in the fitting.
Injection sealant should be Pro-seal 890 and should be used toward the be-
ginning of its work 1ife (freshly mixed) to obtain a good flow throughout
fhe fitting and between the wires leaving no voids.
Inject seelant using a sealant gun at a pressure of approximately 100 psi
until the sealant, without visible evidence of entrapped air, emerges from
both notches in the outer periphery of the seal assembly mounting flanges.
Renove excess sealant which extrudes from the seal assembly mounting flanges.
